How much exercise do you all shoot for per day/week? I have to admit that for me, exercising is the hardest part, especially if I'm putting 15 hour days in with work and school. I know I need to make it a priority, but I'm not sure how do to it. How does one go about fitting in an exercise routine into a busy schedule? Also, how do you prevent it from getting boring? That's another problem I have. I'd appreciate any tips you could give me. Thanks!
Jen

Hi,
I've struggled with this also. But I have found that you have to MAKE the time to exercise. You really need to commit yourself. I'm only exercising 30 minutes per day, 5 days a week. I feel that my health has to be a priority. If I can't spend 30 minutes per day, trying to better my health, then I'm making excuses. I'm really busy also. I'm a SAHM of 2 kids, go to school full time and it's really hard putting in the time to exercise. But if you think about what your day looks like, I'm sure you can fit it in.
Good luck to you!
Jen, you definitely hit a cord here. I am not sure if I'm offering any advice here as much as "I hear you". Between work, parenting my baby, and taking care of the house, I don't have anytime left to excercise. Besides, I HATE to excercise, so I'm always looking for excuses. I used to wait until I finish everything and tuck the baby in, then it's too late in the evening and I'm too tired to do anything.
But I finally did it & scheduled excercise. I wake up 1/2 an hour early and use the stationary bike in front of the TV. It worked for me. I aim at 3 times/week (I try to be realistic cuz I can't make it 5 days). Yes it needs commitment and yes I barely drag myself up, but yes it is doable.
For variety, I'm looking at excercise videos. I would recommend walking for a change (but this is not an option for me).
Tell ya what, since we're both starting at this, we can keep each other accountable. I'll excercise today if you will LOL.

Thanks for the understanding. :) I'll get cracking at it tonight. I absolutely can NOT get up any earlier in the morning. I'm so not a morning person. Besides, I actually have more energy at night. So, since I'm doing it today, I'm sure you will too..LOL It's nice to have an exercise buddy, even if it is in cyberspace. :)
Have a good day.

So Jen, did you excercise yesterday? I couldn't get myself to excercise yesterday, but I did excercise early today.

Yes, I actually did do my exercise at about 10:00 last night! I also managed to make it through the entire day yesterday without drinking soda. That's a big pitfall for me, especially since I can't stand diet soda. All in all, a very good day yesterday, and I feel good!
Good job to you for getting up and exercising!! I admire anyone who can get up and do that in the morning. I'm not fully awake until 10 or so... :)
Jen
Hey...congrats you two!!! I exercise in the morning...although I hate it...and by Friday I usually have an excuse not to get up. I get up and hour earlier and wassssssssssss putting 15 minutes into an ab workout dvd (gilad...I love it!!!) and 20-30 minutes on the treadmill. Then I would have 15 minutes to compose myself before my little niece gets here for the day. (I'm a SAHM of 2 nieces and a friends baby and various friends children when in need...since my two are in school full time now) Good luck and keep posting...you're motivating me!!

OK I wasn't able to wake up early today. I hit the snooze button and slept for 2 hours LOL> But you know what? I WILL exercise today after I get home. Hopefully it will be nap time for Mark and I will be able to exercise. The laundry can wait. This is really motivating!! Keep it up everybody!!
