Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone. What I am thankful for? That Thankgiving has come and gone! I had it in my head that I was going to at least TRY and stick to my weight-loss paln. If nothing else, at least maintain my weight instead of gain over the holiday weekend. I actually didn't do too bad on Thursday, because I was cooking and busy trying to get stuff to the tables. I had a couple of deviled eggs, which I regretted after a couple hours. (Me and eggs don't get along very well.) It was the next two days that were a real temptation for me. We had a TON of leftovers and I had no energy to fix healthy food. Thankfully, the remains of the feast died last night. Yeah!! Back to drinking my water, eating my veggies, and going for walks. Well, the walks will probably take the form of Christmas shopping, but at least I will be up and MOVING! So it all works out. I told my husband I am NOT fixing all that food at Christmas. A few treats and a ham. That's IT! I hope all you ladies fared better than I over the anti-weight loss weekend. :) My short-term goal (to be completed by the end of the year) is to lose enough weight so I can shop for my jeans at Wal-Mart again, instead of having to go to Avenue or Catherine's online because they are the only ones who carry jeans large enough for me. Good luck ladies, and think SLIM.

I think you should consider your weekend a success. You caved for a couple of days, but that stopped yesterday right? And even when you strayed off your plan, I bet you ate better than you would normally do.

The important thing is that you're back on track today. And you will be on track all the way till Christmas. And that is something to be proud of. And I bet you'll be shopping at Wall Mart sooner than you think :)
And speaking of jeans, I bought myself a pair of jeans last week YAY!! It's been ages since I wore jeans cuz we don't have plus size jeans over here and even the ones I can find don't fit too good (too big in certain areas and look like a sack of potatoes). I was surprised to find a fit last Thursday. And they look GREAT!

Thanks Mary. And congrats on getting to buy a pair of jeans for yourself. Yay!
One of the many reasons I want to be able to shop Wal-Mart for my clothes again is because we don't have a plus-size store in our town either. So, if I want to buy anything that fits, I have to either look online, or drive (well, my hubby does the driving) 80-100 miles to find an Avenue or something. I've already downed my first 3 glasses of water just sitting at the computer reading! So I am confident I will stay on track til Christmas Day. And thats only 1 day. Then I'll be back to the grind, so to speak.

I am talking about not having a plus size store in the whole country LOL. (I live in Egypt by the way). Well, actually I know of 1 plus size store, but it is for a "work" wardrobe. Suits mainly. It's pretty good but very expensive. And I want more young stuff. I'm only 26. I shouldn't be wearing suits all day!!
You'd think that everybody here is skinny right? Wrong!! very wrong!! There are a lot of plus size women. So a lot of normal stores carry a section of what I like to call "the ugly woman's outfit". Obviously their idea of a plus size woman is a sack of potatoes. Literally. I mean long sleeves, baggy, long shirts (knee length can you imagine that??). I refuse to visit the ugly women's section!

I'm taking your lead and sipping on water here too.

The whole country????!!!! Boy, and I thought shopping here in the US was difficult! Sounds like Egypt could use a few stores that carry comfy, casual plus-size clothes.

Why are you up so early by the way? I am usually alone on the board this time of day. Great to have someone to chat with though

I think I logged off just before your last post. My hubby works the graveyard shift(12am-8am) so I am often awake and on the computer in the wee hours of the morning. I really don't keep what anyone would call a "normal" sleep schedule. Sometimes I go to bed around 10 or 11pm and sometimes I stay up while my hubby is working. It just depends on how I feel, and if I have to do anything the next day. I'll be glad when he begins driving truck for a living next spring. At least then we can keep the same schedules. I have to admit though, as far as my weight-loss goals are concerned, I'm a little nervous about life on the road. Not a whole lot of opportunity for excercise and healthy food is going to be challenge to find when we travel the country. I'm thinking I'd better get REAL cozy with the "light fare" menus that many restauraunts offer these days and just hope for the best. Thanks to modern technology I will still be able to post here though, so support shouldn't be an issue.
