Hi there...I've been here before...just wanted to ask if anyone else has this problem...I have been exercising every day for over 11 weeks now...7 days a week at my gym, including Thanksgiving...but I have actually gained weight since then...I don't diet like I should, and I don't do a lot of weight training, so I am not gaining muscle...any ideas? I am on birth control, just starting my 4th month, but my problems started before then..I'm turning 32 on Friday...could it just be my metabolism combined with the wrong diet and wrong type of workout?

Hey, Its probably too many calories and not enough cardio. Add a little more cardio, cut back on sugar because sugar has alot of calories, and dont eat fried foods!

I think exercise is the hard part and since you've already got that habit in, then hurray to you.

Eating better is much easier than you think. Don't think of it as a diet. And don't take it as an all or nothing approach. Start with changing things in your diet. Small changes can make a huge difference. For example, eliminate soda. That's a big one. Make it a point to eat a big salad before dinner (easy on the dressing and use low calorie/fat dressing). Try to cut down on sugar (instead of eating 2 cookies, eat 1). Your diet doesn't have to be perfect yet. When you're ready, make more changes. Believe me, healthy food is very yummy.

To get an idea of how to change things in your diet, try journaling everything you eat for a few days. Then have a look at the list and see where you can make changes.

Good luck!

they're right. :) a slow change, breaking old habits and making new ones will benefit you in the long term.

however, i'd also recommend talking to your family doctor. get a full physical to make sure there's nothing out of the ordinary. then have her recommend a nutritionist for you. together you can start making changes that will help you on your journey.

good luck.

Hi. I just wanted to let you know you're not alone. I am the same way. Once I get into an exercise routine, I truly enjoy the exercise & look forward to it. However, I also enjoy unhealthy foods. Like Mary said, it's a gradual thing. Start making changes slowly. Also, don't forget about water. It's very important to drink lots of water to flush your system out. Hope that helps!
