Hi all! My name is Nikki and I am currently 32 weeks preggo. I have gained some weight during this preg, I know duh right!
I have had gastric bypass surgery 5 years ago and had lost 200 pounds with that. It was the reason I was able to get preg in the first place. I was unable to get preg when morbidly obese. Lossing the weight I got preg last Sep only to lose him at 21 weeks when he was stillborn. We tried again and was able to get preg again 3 months later and here I am.
I am lookin for a place to settle into because after Conner is born, I am determined to get back down to a healthy weight. I am back up to around 100 pounds overweight. Would like to lose around 120 now, and have no idea how much more weight I will gain in the next month of being preggo! I am due on Feb 5th, but have an incompetent cervix and when my cerclage is cut, I will probably go soon after, so sometime in January!!!
I have only gained around 20 pounds with Conner so far. So that is good. But with our first that was stillborn, I had gained alitle and then after we lost him, I was in no shape emotionaly to diet, so I did not lose that weight before getting preggo again.
My plan is to walk alot after the baby is born. We got a nice stroller and I hope that he likes it enough for me to be able to take nightly walks after he gets a couple of weeks old. But I might be silly on that one. I have no idea until he gets here and see how he is.
I would also like to join the gym my MIL's boyfriend goes to. He told me that they have a nursery there. But I dont think that I want to have people I dont know take care of him when he is first born or anything. Plus I have not looked into it, they might only allow children starting at a certain age.
I also am into video games. My hubbie got me Yourself Fitness for the X-Box. I tried it a few times before I got preggo. I liked it alot, so I might do that until Conner gets old enough for me to go to the gym.
I have been on bedrest for this preg and am not allowed to do much movement, let alone any exercise. So I am completly out of shape.
Im lookin forward to getting to know u all!
Hugs,
Nikki

Hello nikki.. i am jami I am currently preggo too. expecting a lil girl though in april (or i am due in april rather) right now i have gained around 20lbs, last appointment I gained 1 pound i was happy about that.. i also lost alot of weight before getting preggo over 50lbs.. But fertlilty didnt have any reason with that.. i think going for walks would be great.. i plan on doing that too when she is born and the weather permits. I have used Dance dance Revlotion for the ps2 to work out.. they have some good songs and it keeps track of weight lost and calories.. Wow, I've never been pregnant before, but I hear they have aerobic classes and such for people who are pregnant and wanting to watch their weight. I'd be afraid to give you any advice, but will totally support you when you find out from your doctor what you need to do to stay healthy.

Are you looking to lose, or maintain, during your pregnancy? I'd think losing wouldn't be a goal, right? Keep me posted!

I like Walk Away The Pounds CD...you might try that now, before you deliver. It isn't stressful. Ask your doctor first if it is okay, we don't want to put your baby in danger. But I really don't see why not. That way you can get a jump on the walking thing.

This lady here in town that I know walked 5 miles at one time 3 times a week and she lost her weight fast. Of course she dieted too. But it happened fast once she did the walking thing.

I want to work up to that.

Hi Nikki, congratulations on the pregnancy and welcome to the board. If you're on bed rest, then you shouldn't try any exercise now. Not even walking. Wait until the baby is here and then you'll have all the time in the world to lose the weight. Well, actually when the baby arrives, you won't have much time to do anything at first, but walking is doable.

Taking rides with baby is soooo much fun. I used to do that and the baby enjoyed it very much. Each time my son got cranky, I put him in the stroller and walked. At first he slept almost immediately (sigh of relief here), then when he got older, he started enjoying the scenery. I don't do this anymore cuz now he wants to push the stroller. So our walks are not longer exercise, but still a lot of fun for him. My "baby" will be 2 years old in March by the way.

Have a safe delivery!

Thanks u guys. Yeah, I cant do any sort of exercise right now. I have an incompetent cervix, which is the reason our first son was stillborn. So I have to be real careful right now!
No, Im not on any type of diet right now. I have found that I have done real well this preg with food. I only eat when im hungry. That is something I usually have a BIG problem with when not preggo! I eat all the time! But for some reason, I think the baby pushes the tummy up even more and I can only eat alittle at a time a few times a day. So I just eat small more frequent meals. I think that is why I have only gained alittle weight with Conner.
Im lookin forward to getting to know all of u!
