Hello everyone :)
My name is Rebekah and I just turned 28 on Saturday and I live in Tampa FL. My current weight is 221. I am trying to get down to around 125-140,depending on how I feel once I am close to that range. I am doing my own thing as far as diet and exercise goes. I tried Weight Watchers and it just isnt for me, the meetings were never at the right times, I didnt have a ride to get there(I cant drive), there wasn't enough money for them etc etc. So anyways, I am trying to do low calorie/low fat and walking so far, I have the Walk Away the Pounds videos that I am going to use a few days a week and then I walk on the treadmill at the gym or get off the bus a few stops early or whatever I can to get a little more walking in. Once I have the habit down of walking and eating better, I will start some strength training along with the walking.
I was reading some of the posts, and the one thing that stuck out to me was the "cheat day", that sounds like a really great idea, but like someone said, a whole day seems too much, so I am going to try just one "cheat meal" per week instead and see how that goes. Its nice to be here and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Rebekah

Hi Rebekah--
Welcome! I'm pretty new here too but it's been great so far. It sounds like you have a good plan set to lose weight. I have heard about the Walk Away the Pounds series and I'll be interested to hear how it works for you. Keep us updated!

Welcome to the board Rebekah. Walking is a great way to get exercise. It doesn't feel like a chore (can you tell I hate to exercise). I've been walking once a week for 0.5 an hour and I was meaning to up that this week. But I have a terrible cold and I probably will look like a drunk person walking LOL.
Good luck on your decision for losing weight. Keep us posted
