Hi
I am getting ready to move across the country. Me and hubby will be driving a moving truck over 3000 miles. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can eat right when I am sitting in a truck all day. Any ideas on some good breakfast foods, lunch foods and snacks that will keep us awake and that we can keep in a cooler.

One thing that I really like, are the 100 calorie packs. They sell them by crackers. They are portioned out into 100 calories, and they have like oreos, and chips ahoy. They are good for me when I want something sweet or crunchy. Good luck!

Here are some food ideas that I have from taking long trips (where we drive forever and only stop to go to the bathroom!)

Breakfast:
-light yogurt topped with your favorite cereal
-fruit like a banana, apple, grapes
-low fat granola bars or energy bars

Lunch:
-sandwiches (turkey, pb&j, etc...you can make these in the morning and put them in the cooler for later)
-sandwich wraps (with tortillas instead of bread), roll it up like a burrito (I like turkey with low fat cream cheese & lettuce)

Snacks:
-crackers (I love reduced fat wheat thins) and low fat string cheese
-nuts, such as almonds or walnuts (give you energy!)

Drinks:
Bottles of water, flavored waters that have no sugar/calories (safeway, albertsons have their own brands and they are usually like 80-90 cents for 1 liter) or diet/no calorie sodas (like pepsi zero)

Where are you moving from and to? Hope any of my suggestions help and good luck with your trip!!

And don't buy stuff like regular soda, potato chips, etc. Even if you buy them "just for hubby", you'll probably end up eating them too. This is a long ride and you might start eating out of boredom. So if the tempting snacks are not there, you can't eat them!

Have a safe trip

Thank you everyone for all the ideas on foods. You all had so many great ideas. We are moving from Washington state to Georgia, so its gonna be a long drive.
