Hello everyone,

I'm sure there will be lots of intros like mine since 'tis the season for new year's resolutions.

I've always struggled with my weight all my life. In high school and college I was very active (I played tenis and softball and danced) so I usually stayed aroud 160-170. After college I was working two jobs, sitting behind a desk all day, and eating whatever would deliver. It took no time at all for my weight to shoot up over 200. I did WW for a few months a couple of years ago and loved it. I stuck to the program and lost 20lbs. But then I spent the summer traveling and couldn't stay within my points or exercise regularly. It didn't take long to gain it all back and then some. For the last year, I've hovered around 235, but I just weighed in post holidays at 247. Definitely the highest I've ever been.

I don't have an official target weight yet. I know that at my height - 5'3" - I should be aiming for around 125. But honestly, I haven't been 125 since I was about 12. And I'd be REALLY happy at 140. Either way, I need to lose over 100lbs. It seems totally daunting.

Right now I'm really excited. I'm going to a WW meeting this week, I got rid of all my junk food and I have a great grocery list for tomorrow, and I'm all set to go to the gym after work tomorrow. But I'm sure I'm really going to need support once the novelty wears off. I'm great at starting diets, but not so great at sticking with them. And I have a lot of sticking to do. I really want this to be it. I'm really committed. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi Annie.
What a great idea to do a grocery list! I have so much to relearn!
You are off to a great start. I too understand how big it all seems.
But one day at a time. One lesson at a time.
Nice to meet you and I hope to get to know you better.
God bless,
Hy

I did! I didn't get to go Monday because my daycare center was closed, but I actually worked out New Year's Eve and Day. I'm really getting excited about this. It is so much easier to stay motivated once you start seeing results. I'm actually looking forward to weighing in and measuring on Friday.

i so agree that this seems like such a big, impossible goal right now, but it is so true that when you see results its so much easier to stay motivated, just seeing mary's stats (247/216) was motivating to me, cuz it was like, wow, someone here is doing it, someone here has lost 31 lbs! thats great, thanks for putting that on there!
