I know that really the only way to loose weight is less calories and excersize, however, in the past diet pills have really helped me get going. So has anyone tried any of the new cortisol pills? What did you think?

I haven't tried these particular ones. Of couse, you have to do what is right and what works for you, but please let me tell you what happened to me as a word of warning. I've always been overweight. I started taking diet pills in my early twenties to lose weight under a doctor's supervision. I did lose down to 165, but every time I went off the pills as he recommended the weight would start creeping back up. Over a period of about 4 years of on again off again pills, I literally killed my metabolism. I moved to a place with my new husband that kept me from getting them and the internet wouldn't even ship them there. I gained 75 lbs. in less than a year, all the while fighting it tooth and nail. The doctors told me I would have to wait until my body corrected itself and I completely gave up. I ended up gaining another 25 due to bad practices and pregnancy, but I think my metabolism has pretty much corrected itself. I won't ever take another diet pill.
Like I said, you have to make your own choices, but please be careful!

If you need a diet pill to jump start not being hungry well...you will need to ask your doctor and make a decision. I will support your choice.
I can't take diet pills because I have a terrible gall bladder problem and 5 years ago I was told I have 7 gall stones...so I can't take them. So ask your doctor what he thinks first.
I think that you have to learn how and what to eat. You have to contol portions, drink plenty of water, this is a good first step. Then decide what time of WOE you are going to do for the rest of you life. And of Course my Dread...exercise.

Your metabolism will slow as you age regardless of whether diet pills are a factor or not. It may also slow due to pregnancy/childbirth... change in eating habits.... birth control options... stress... changes in sleep... etc. There are so many things that can cause our metabolism to change. Quite often someone says, "Well when I got on Depo ... that was what caused me to gain all that 248.687 lbs...." When in truth perhaps it was many things including their own development of bad eating habits. I know that for me when I start gaining weight I avoid the scales like the plague and that's the wrong thing to do. You should weigh weekly or at least semi-monthly to moderate your weight instead of doing the 'if I don't see it to know, I can't be blamed for it' game. However, it is true that often ppl who get on diet pills must stay on them to 'maintain' but in that case... what's worse? Being fat or taking a diet pill??? It's kinda like deciding the lesser of evils IMHO. Exercise will usually combat any type of 'normal' slow metabolic issues. I say 'normal' in meaning that there aren't other complications such as diabetes, throid issues, etc.
Ultimately everybody is different and you have to do what's right for you. Sometimes that involves trial and error. Even when talking to a doctor about this, consider a few professional opinions rather than just one.
