Hi, I started Adipex a little over a month ago and so far it is helping take off some pounds. I am trying to find a diet plan and workout regimen. How have ya'll had success? Which diet plans or fitness clubs? Time has been my biggest problem. I am a SAHM to 3 boys 12, 4, and 2. It seems I am always going in several directions at once. I have been going through bouts of depression, and I want to lose weight to be healthier and feel better. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. I look forward getting to know all of you, ya'll seem great!

HI and welcome! I am new too, so I don't have much advice. I am also a SAHM to two boys, so I know how hard it is to make time for ourselves.... or think about weight loss. I have an exercise machine collecting dust, but by the time my youngest (18 mos) goes to bed....I am BEAT!!! It takes all I have to keep up with him.

So far, I have lost 10 lbs. I started eating breakfast (which i never did before) and no longer eat anything after 7 PM. It doens't sound like much, but i am taking baby steps toward a healthier life style.

Good luck and I'm here to support you. :-)

hey mandy,
I started adipex 2 days ago, i also have 3 kids 5,3,and 1! and i also have struggled w/ depession. seems like we have some things in common. I am not really on a diet plan per say, i have just been trying really hard not to skip meals, which in my busy schedule is really hard to do. (i realized i was skipping then binging, not intentionally, but still i think it was part of the reason why i struggled to lose any weight). Did your doc give you adipex, or did you get it from the internet? (i got mine on the internet, my insurance wont cover it, and it was cheaper in the net then if i had gotten my doc to rx it for me and paid for it at the pharmacy)
I go to the gym 1-2 week, i'm trying to work in more time, but right now things are crazy, so, i try to do one of my home workout videos or dvds 1-2 week too (as long as it's not taebo, i can do it with my kids playing in the same room, lol)
I have a personal trainer, who really helps me figure out what to do at the gym, cuz other wise i would be clueless.
well i'm really intrested to know how you have done with the adipex so far, what was your start weight, your goal, and how have you done so far? How do you feel when you take it? I forgot (no lie) to eat today, until i got home at 9 and my husband asked me to make him a sandwich, and i was like, mmm, food, good idea! lol. Do you feel wound up, or hyper? any side effects?

I wish you luck, i'm here to chat if you wanna

ann, i also started to eat breakfast daily, or not skipping any meals at all for that matter (except the last two days) and i thought it made a big differance. i would skip an meal, then way over eat later, and when not skipping meals, i'm not doing that any more

good luck to you.

I like South Beach for eating plans. I think it's well balanced and easy enough to follow. For exercise, I started small. First I started with 15 mins/day of walking or yoga. Then when that got easy I increased to 30 mins etc. I find that I really like our local community center, they have lots of programs and the instructors are fun. And the people are nice. It's much easier to make it every time to a class when you know people will miss you. I also enjoy the social aspect.

Good luck!!
