Strange Motivators......

You know what is weird, that I never thought would motivate me?? My body wash! I bought some new body wash, its Caress, with the natural skin brightners, but its the SMELL!! It reminds me of summer, like your um sunscreen. The kind of pina colada smell? So, it reminds me that summer is coming, which reminds me to eat healthy. Strange.

What are some strange things that motivate you?

Also, I was just thinking of this, do you think that drinking Gatorade is okay for some of your daily water? Because I am REALLY turned off to drinking so much water! I can't ever get up to 8 glasses, partly because ours has a weird taste. What do you think? Or what have you read? Thanks!

I'm not sure on my strange motivators, I'll let you know when they dawn on me!

As for Gatorade it's not a great replacement for water. It's highish in calories and has a lot of sugars in it. It's great if your running a marathon but not so good for dieting water. Have you tried putting a slice of lemon, lime or orange in your water? Or going with flavored water like fruit2o? Also somthing like crystal light that doesn't add too many calories or sugar. They have a few flavors I really like, some I don't care for. My suggestion for additional sources of water is to try finding caffeine free/sugar free drinks. Decaf iced tea or an herbal iced tea..or hot herbal/decaf tea can be good.

Good luck!

Careful with the Crystal Light--it contains aspartame and/or phenylkinetics which are nasty stuff--cancer, tumors, just to name a few. It also has a lot of potassium which is very necessary but can be dangerous in too high of levels. Gatorade is for use only when you have exercised hard, hard, hard and you need to replace those electrolites. And yes, tons of sugar and calories.

What about the type of sweetner used in Lipton's diet instant teas in peach and rasberry flavors? Any one know? I like to drink that in place of soda... I do like water and if you don't, trying buying bottled water. Also the suggestion of lemon, or orange slices works for me.

Sorry, I incorrectly stated that the potassium was in the Crystal Lite--I meant to say that the Gatorade contains the potassium to replace what you lose in persperation from the workout.
