I'm new here.
I have around 100 pounds to loose inorder to be in my healthy weight range. I'm scared about my health.
I'm a 24 year old single mother of a 5 year old, 3 year old, and 1 year old. I want to change my way of living, so that I can be around for my kids(I know my ex won't be). I weigh 210 lbs, and was told that my BMI is 37.2, and should only be 24. My healthy weight range is 104-135.
I've had a really hard time getting motivated to loose the weight. I don't have any type of support system. I do have a boyfriend, but he isn't any help, he see's no problem with being overwieght as he himself is overweight.
I was sitting on my couch a few days ago, and I hadn't done anything strenuous, but my heart was racing and I could feel it pounding through my whole body.
I've decided to start calorie counting, and know that I should only consume 1400 calories a day. I love candy though. Not baked goods, but Starbursts, and skittles, nerds, those types of things, and I've given up my 257 cal bottles of Smirnoff Twisted.
I need help to stay motivated.I want to be healthy, and back down to a resonable size. My 18 fits me tight now, and before I had got married and had kids I was only a size 2. I don't forsee myself getting into a size 2 ever again, but a size 8 would be really nice.
If you could offer me some support in staying motivated or have any tips on making things easier, please help, and I'll try to help anyone else that's in my situation. Thank you.

Welcome to the board!! We're glad to have you among us. There are a great bunch of ladies around that will gladly offer motivation and support.
It's great that you gave up you Smirnoff bottles. Baby steps is defenetly the way to go. This way you won't feel deprived or "on a diet". Try cutting back on fried foods, decreasing amount of butter you use, if you have to have candy, eat half of it and save the other half for later. But don't make too much changes at the same time so you don't get overwhelmed. Take it on your own pace.
Looking foward to knowing you better

Sorry to butt in the conversation, but I've tried spaghetti squash and like it. Just don't go into with the idea that it will taste just like real spaghetti and you should be fine. I've even tried doing half pasta and have squash, which wasn't bad. Welcome to the boards and good luck on your journey!

Hey Valerie-
I'm a big pasta eater too. Just wanted to let you know about a little product I found that is really yummy and healthier for you than regular pasta. Barrilla (sp?) has a whole-grain pasta that is packed with lots of nutrients (including Omega-3). I've started using this pasta recently and actually serve it to the whole family (taste just like regular pasta).
Hope that helps!
Welcome and good luck!
