No Weight Loss This Week

Ugh! I did my weekly weigh-in last night, and I am stil 268.5! I lost 0 last week! I know it could be that I'm building muscle, but it can be so frustrating to work your tail off and get no result (as far as the numbers go!). Am I putting too much importance on the numbers? I have noticed a slight change in how my clothes fit...I guess that counts for something, huh?

Any-hoo, I'm just a bit bummed. I am proud of myself though for one thing. I went out with some friends yesterday and didn't cheat AT ALL! They got some ice cream...I got non-fat/low cal sorbet. The big thing was that we went to Olive Garden (I LOVE Italian food). I ate plenty of salad, got a low-fat meal (and was barely able to eat half of it), and got NO dessert (although everyone else did). So, at least I was able to display some self-control.

How is everyone doing? I hope everyone has a good week. Hopefully I'll see a change this week....maybe I should up my cardio(?) a little. We'll see!

Take Care-
Liz

hello,
I would suggest dropping the weights if you want to see results on the scale.I would also try walking and biking and maybe alittle crunches, leg lunges. I know it works for me. and plenty of rest, water. and see if that helps.

If there is one thing that I've learned is that you can't let the numbers discourage you. One thing that you should try is measurments. I know that it can be a pain, but when you see the inches coming off, it is a definte upper, verses not seeing the numbers go down on the scale. I measured my arms, waist hips, and thighs, and decided to monitor my weight loss in inches, so that when the lbs don't come off, I won't get to discouraged. It might be worth a try for you.

Hi Liz,

Hey, you said your cloths are fitting better, in my book that is a reward in it's self.

Liz, noticing changes in clothes really counts and counts for a lot. Don't get too fixed on the scale. While you're at it, why don't you take a couple of measurements so that even if you don't lose pounds but lose inches, then you know you're on the right track. And it does sound good when you say: I lost 4 inches off my butt LOL.

Keep going and congratulations on the super willpower!! You're a role model.
