I like watching The Biggest Loser. It makes me want to do stuff. I hadn't planned to exercise last night, but after I happenchance saw TBL I hopped up and put on some sneakers and I was off. Just walking, you know. Nothing impressive. Or so I thought.
I used a couple of calculators today out of curiosity, and apparently my walk did in over 800 calories. That's pretty good huh?? I don't even eat 800 calories some days. I think this will be a real arsenal in my war on obesity. I'm going to take that same walk every day possible.
It was inspirational. I went down the street and walked through a very affluent neighborhood. Looking at those homes gives me hope that one day I can have a place of my own and be happy.
I forgot to weigh myself on Tuesday. FORGOT TO WEIGH MYSELF!!! Did you hear that? It makes me proud. I'm not stressing about eating and obsessive scale checking anymore. It's a great freedom. So er, I'll... figure out sometime what my weight is. Maybe next Tuesday I'll remember. Ha.
Leaving with a thought from my infamous Fatbook:
Each of us wages a private battle every day between the grand fantasies we have for ourselves and what actually happens. No dream comes true until you wake up and go to work.

A good site to use is www.caloriesperhour.com . You input your age, height, weight, etc. and then the activity and for how long you did it. It's one of the most accurate places I've found to track calories burned during exercise. There are some other sites out there, but a lot aren't very accurate. Keep in mind, it is going to ask you your pace in MPH, so you will need to track that. Just make sure you don't overestimate, which a lot of people tend to do. A good way to track that is to go to a local track and walk a mile at your normal pace. Divide 60 minutes by the # of minutes it took you to complete that and that gives you your mph. An average is 2.5-3.5 for a lot of beginner walkers. I generally walk at about 4 mph. If I walked 1 hour at 4 mph, I would burn about 600 calories.
