I have something that I am going to mid July. I want to lose 50 pounds by then. I have been trying now for six days and have lost 4.5 pounds. I have been on my own program in the past where I lost as much as 20 pounds in two months with water, exercise, and a healthy diet. It was Low fat and low calorie. I was not starving myself. I stopped because I got bored with my menus and it was so easy to eat out. Since that time, I have been diagnosed with Insulin Resistance Syndrome and it can affect weight loss. I am taking a medication for that, but it does not necessarily impact weight loss. These are my questions. Is there anything you can do to speed up weight loss? Can a physician give you medication that helps weight to come off? Do you know of a website that has some very simple menus? I only have to prepare for myself and menues often involve families or elaborate ingredients.

I don't mean to discourage you, but 50 lbs seam a lot for this short period.. but on the upside, if you aim at 25-30lbs or so, it is more realistic, doable, and it will make a great difference on the way you look (that's from experience :)
I haven't heard of a drug that accelerates weight loss... I heard of a lot of drugs "claiming" fast weight loss... but I never heard real people claim it works.
As for the menus, I bet a lot of ladies here can offer many suggestions for new & easy stuff to try.. just make a post and ask about "food for lunch" or whatever.. and the ladies here can give you suggestions.. so don't worry about getting stuck with boring food..
Welcome aboard.. I hope I get to know you better..

I understand completely about the menus thing. For what seems like forever, I was single and lived alone and my friends loved eating out. I created a lot of simple "meals" on my own that I can share with you, if you want. What are your favorite foods? How do you usually eat, 3 big meals, or 5-6 small ones? Let us know, and I'm sure some of us can come up with some things for you.
