Hi,
This is my first time here. I have A LOT to lose. I decided that its time although that should have been decided long ago. Ive, for awhile have had problems with one of my knees. Well the other just recently started bothering me. Going up and down the stairs at work is only aggravating it. Im sure its because of my weight. Im sure Im about 380 pounds. You know, once you get past a certain weight, scales are out. Ive got to do something and I have to do it like now! If there is anyone out there that is willing to be a wt. loss buddy, please let me know. Im also looking for suggestions on quick weight loss. Im not talking about quick wt loss through the whole time. Just something that will let me loss some weight quickly to be an encouragement. If I only had 20 or so pounds to lose it would be a big deal...but trying to lose 1-2 pounds a week initially is discouraging.

Welcome. You've took the first step, and that is great, and what it takes to win the battle of the buldge. There are no great secrets. Just drink lots of water, and monitor your calorie intake. Keep a journal, and write down everything that you eat, along with how many calories are in it. If you find out what your recommended calorie intake for the day is, and you stick to that while drinking lots of water, you'll notice the lbs just melting away. Your first week or two if you stick to a plan, you should notice a significant amount lost, up to 5-10 lbs for the first two weeks. It does slow down after that, but if you start exercising(even walking)then it'll give your body another boost. But do not starve yourself to get the initial jump on the scale, because it will start to shut down your metabolism. If you stick within your calorie range you should do just fine. Good Luck.

Hello and welcome aboard.. I agree with Valerie, there is no shortcut to this.. but do drink lots of water & watch your calories and you'll notice an initial big weight loss.. most of it will be water weight, but pounds gone are pounds gone..
Looking forward to knowing you better
