pretty good weekend. i had to work on sunday, but since the superbowl was going on it was pretty slow.. (i work at a internet/catalog clothing company).
saturday we had a birthday party for my 2 yr old.. i was pretty good, i ate 2 pieces of cake .. but at least i scraped all of the frosting off.. an i only had 1 scoop of ice cream.. we then spent the day shopping at wal-mart and at the grocery store, so i did quite a bit of walking...

Well, I ate great if barbeque and triple chocolate indulgence cookies with chocolate brownie extreme ice cream count as good food choices :). LOL! I have an excuse though...the baby made me do it! Seriously though, I ate junk all weekend. All I can say is it's good I get in about 8-12 servings of fruits/veggies a day during the week, because last weekend I probably only got about 2 servings a day. Oh well, my scale actually said I had lost a pound or two, so I need to gain those back by my next appointment ;).
By the way...congratulations on the new hat! I think you'll make a great CL!

why do you need to gain them back? I actually lost 26 lbs while I was pg with my son, and my ob said that was okay since I was overweight to begin with. As long as you eat healthy I was told it doesn't matter if you have the weight to spare.

Sara, happy birthday for your little one... your children look adorable by the way...
My son Mark will be 2 next month.. I hope I can stop at 2 pcs of cake.. not me! When it comes to sweets I'm an all-or-nothing person.. I am fine if I don't taste the cake, but if I start.. watch out! And don't even get me started on the ice cream.. thank God it's too cold for me to eat it

Thanks Staci :)
I don't really need to gain them back, it's just my excuse :D. Seriously though, I weighed myself this morning, and I was down another pound or so, so it obviously wasn't detrimental. I do eat super healthy 90% of the time, so I feel great about how it's going. I keep a food journal, too, just in case my doctor gets concerned that I'm not gaining or slowly losing, so I can show him I really do eat very healthily and still consume around 2500 or more calories per day.

Edited to add: pre-pregnancy I was on a 1200-1500 calorie a day diet, and I was losing 3-4 lbs a week, so I have significantly upped my calories because 1) I don't think losing 3-4 lbs a week while pregnant could be healthy 2) I get hungry! I just eat when I'm hungry and focus on eating my fruits and veggies (I aim for 10 a day) and dairy (I aim for 5 servings or more a day). I am honestly hoping that I can make it to the end of this pregnancy and still be only 260 (I am at 259.5) when I deliver. That way, I should only have to lose from about 240 after the initial loss and that's easier to do than losing from 275 :).

But don't get dissapointed if you go over 260.. I think month 8 shows some weight gain because of baby's rapid growth and
Mary, what is your goal weight before you start trying? I was just curious, I tried the whole time I lost weight last time and I think I finally got preg after only around 15 lbs lost. Anyways, I wish you the best of luck in the weight loss and getting pregnant.

Oh, don't worry, I won't be too disappointed if my weight goes above 260 since that only give me 1/2 lb of growth :) and since I was already up to 265 back in December. My ultimate goal was to not get above 275, which I still think is very reasonable since I have 14 weeks left. As long as I don't put on a ton of water weight, I can probably stay below 265 since I have been holding steady or losing for the past 8 weeks. Good luck on trying for #2 this summer and you'll definitely have to keep us updated. The journal has been really great, because I can see that I'm getting all my servings of fruits and veggies, and it keeps me from feeling bad when I indulge in junk food. Plus, like I said, if my doctor gets worried about the loss or lack of gain, I can always show him my food journal.
