I have been steadily losing weight for the last couple of weeks. However I am getting fustrated because I want to lose it faster. I have increased my visits to the gym to 6 days a week. I am not seeing as much change as I would like but several people who haven't seen me in a while keep telling me that I am looking better. I guess I am pushing too hard. I am just so tired of being this overweight. My husband doesn't support my life style changes I am making. Right now I am trying the low carb high protein diet. In case any one is wondering I have dropped 18 pounds and 19 inches. I can't help but want better results faster. I am conpletely fustrated. I hope some one will have some words of encouragement for me. My goal weight is 125.

Well, you're doing good. As you've probably heard before, it didn't come on over night, it's not going to come off over night. You could try to change up the diet plan that you're doing, or increase the cardio, but from what it sounds like, you're doing great. Just keep it up, and don't give up.

18 lbs is fabulous but 19 inches is awesome all on its own in my opinion. I take it that is all over inches not just waist. Just a note, the personal trainer at the Y where I go told me it is best to take at least 2 days off a week from doing anything. Unfortunately for me, I have only managed to go about 3 days a week since I started due to illness and asthma problems. You are doing great, don't beat yourself up for not losing faster. I have only been at it 3 weeks and have only lost 4 lbs. I can't find the measuring tape that will fit around me and don't want to go buy another one but I know I have lost a few inches in the waist cuz I didn't have to lie down to button my jeans Sat. LOL so you are doing MUCH better than me.

I have been on the low carb high protein diet for about 5 weeks. The pounds have pleateaued but the inches are still coming off. I weigh everyday but I only measure every couple of weeks. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

Congratulations! Losing that much weight and 19 inches in 5 weeks is amazing!!! So don't beat yourself up. You have decided to do something positive for yourself and you have to think of it that way. You have to view it as lifestyle changes and not just a quick fix diet. We didn't gain the weight in a short period of time, so we can't expect to lose it overnight. Since you have been losing weight for 5 weeks, I have a feeling your body is starting to build muscle, and soon you will start noticing the pounds flying off! I would also try not to weigh myself everyday because this tends to lead to frustration. Keep up the great work because you are doing a fantastic job. Be proud of yourself for all that you have accomplished.

If the inches are still coming off then you haven't really plateaued. Actually, it means that you're doing great. You're losing fat, but adding muscle weight. Which is great because muscle increase your metabolism so you burn more calories during everyday activities and you lose weight faster. Just keep going and you'll see a major drop in the scale eventually.

Don't feel frustrated.. you should celebrate your success!

Angela, if you can't find a measuring tape, you can use string. Wrap a piece of string around you to see how big you are and keep it. Use the same piece when you do your next measurements and cut off the excess string. Measure how much you cut off

Great news, I went to fix my hubby's pillow yesterday and found the measuring tape. Guess last time I tried this and gave up I actually put it in the sewing kit which I use even less than anything else around here...LMAO!! I measured yesterday but it was after I ate so think I will redo this morn before I eat.
