Well, I'm Staci, 23, live in Missouri and 29 (EEK!) weeks pregnant. Wow, only 11 more weeks to go! After I have the baby, I will still need to lose about 75-100 lbs, depending on how much more I gain.

Staci

Hi everyone,
This is my 1st time on a message board so here it goes... I have been overweight my whole life and I am currently 100lbs. overweight. I have tried every diet and diet pill out there but I am still the same. I have a one year old daughter and she consumes my life so my weight issues have been put on the back burner. I need to start thinking of my health now for her future. Any thoughts on how I can get started on getting some weight off?

Thanks for listening.

HI

I too am new to this board. So let me introduce myself.

My name is Lynne, I will be the BIG 40 in August. I am an Australian living in Canada with my second husband. We have a son, Benjamin, who will be 3 in October. I have been heavy since my first marriage, and never lost the weight. While pregnant with my son I only gained 45 pounds, which was nice. After his delivery I weighed in at 260lbs. I haven't really concentrated on losing the weight until now. At Christmas I decided it was time. I have since lost 6lbs.

I am taking it one step at a time. My goal at the moment is to lose 5lbs by the end of March. Then I will try to maintain that weight, and then try to lose another 5lbs. Trouble is, I am stuck in the house full time, I live outside of town (at an airport) with no sidewalks, so walking around is a pain.

I also have health issues. I am diabetic, asthmatic, I have arthritis in the lower spine, and a pain in the butt. I did consider joining curves, but can't afford the sign up fee, even at 50% off!!!! So I am doing this the old fashioned way, watching what I eat.

Need the support as my family is in Australia, and my hubby loves me just the way I am. In fact, we had an arguement about me losing weight. We finally compromised. I am allowed to get out of the plus/Xl+ sizes. Hubby likes women with a bit of meat on her, but I have explained that healthwise, especially for me, its not worth it.

So, thats me, in a rather large nut!!!!

TTFN
Lynne

Angela, just turned 30, married with 3 kids. I am a SAHM and a student to boot, trying to get my bachelors degree. My kids: 12 and 5 yr old daughters, and 20 month old son. Have a 17 yr old nephew also living with me. Live in South-Central Alabama! I too have asthma so exercise can be a huge problem at times though I don't mind doing it when I can. Started at 255 and today at the dr office I weighed in at 252 with clothes, shoes and after eating and drinking stuff. My biggest goal at the moment is to get well and stay well and get my asthma under control so I can get back to my exercise and weight loss. Lately I haven't been posting that much due to the fact that I haven't been doing well, but try to read when I get a chance to sit here. Welcome to the newcomers, and good luck to everyone.

Angela

Hi I'm Sarah
I have been married for 4 years. I have been overweight my entire life. I peaked at 240 after taking birth control(while excerising.) I decided to really start losing weight in October. I have a hard time dieting and am prone to cheating. And I don't really like excersizing, but it's starting to grow on me(I hope). I currently weight 225. I am a full time student with a full time job and a part-time job and my work schedule is always changing. So I have a hard time finding time to excersize and eat correctly. My short term goal is to get down to 200 pounds by May 1. My long term goal is to get down around 140. Although I'm not sure what would be a heathy weight for me is for sure, because I think I have a large frame (but it's hard to tell with all the fat around it);)
