....having a bad effect on your children/family?

I know I'm a drama queen, but here goes:

I am mortified that my son will catch bad eating habits from me and struggle with his weight later in life. I know I'm trying to eat healthy now, but I still have this fear. For example, I eat in front of the TV.. I have my portions measured out before I sit so I don't overeat. But for him he's just mindlessly munching (veggies mainly and

I worry about it all the time. While I was pregnant I prayed that my son would have his father's metabolism (and so far appears to). Now I'm scared because he will not eat vegetables. Fruit is okay, though. Even though he doesn't have a problem now, I certainly don't want him to develop one later.

I used to worry about my kids. DD, 17 and DS 21 both went through a chubby stage in the early teens. I didn't want them to go through what I went through all my life. BUT I left them alone and they are fine. Both are slender and healthy. BUT unfortuneatly they have to watch what they eat. I don't know where they got it from but they have very good eating habits. It might be that they don't want to look like their mother...LOL

The reason I left them alone about their weight when they were heavier was because when I was a kid at home my dad tormented me daily about being fat. I really do beleive that has a lot to do with why I have problems today. Anyway don't worry about Mark. He will be fine. And what a cutie he is! Stephanie

to some extent, but i'm not going to put too much emphasis on it. we keep mostly good healthy foods in the house, so DD (who is 2) loves carrots yogurt etc..
and i let her eat as much or as little as she wants.
i am going to try to keep her active as much as possible. (outside playing etc)

as a kid i was very very skinny and both my parent were /are fat. i pretty much ate whatever i wanted but was very VERY active.
the pounds started to creep on after high school when i was not as active etc.

DH is and has always been pretty slim (150-175lbs). he is a "grazer".. dosen't eat 3 big meals a day, he just snacks all day long. has a great metabolism..
