I read that when you get rid of your big clothes, it's a sign that you're

I now donate my old BIG clothes, I have found that in the past , hanging onto old clothes only reminded me of 1, sad memories of being that heavy, and 2, giving me permission to ALWAYS have something to wear and letting myself gain the weight back.

I am now just cleaning out my closet, AGAIN, and preparing to give away clothes I had just bought the past 6 months.

It feels great though!!!!

I can see you wanting to hang onto some items for the next pregnancy, I too am way too practical, keep some of your favourite, you may want to buy new ones anyway!

First I plan on having the nicer slacks, skirts and dresses altered so I don't have to buy all new wardrobes each time I go down a couple of sizes. I'll give the rest of them to my sister who is also heavy and could use some clothes.

i usually try to get rid of them, right now i'm trying to sell a bunch of them. i had such a nice surprise about this very subject though. i moved out of my brother's house about 2 years ago and left a bunch of stuff there. whenever he comes over now, he brings some of the stuff i left. one was a bag of clothes, and the sizes were so much different than what i wear now, it reminded me how much i actually have lost!

i wear a size 16/18 now, and these clothes were size 26/28!!! it's easy to say i've lost 30 pounds, but it's a lot easier to forget that and feel bad about where i'm at now. so that was a great motivation, it reminded me that i have started, and i obviously can lose weight if i try hard enough!

and i also haven't put that weight back on, which is even better!! so if it's an option, i say keep one or two pieces of big clothing, but not where you see each day. then when you lose some weight, pull it out to remind yourself!

Get rid of pants and jeans with stretch. Just a suggestion. The last time I lost weight, I wore pants and jeans with stretch in them (lycra blended into the fabric). NEVER again. Stretch fabric is WAY to forgiving. When my non-stretch jeans got sung (with a 5 pound weight gain), I just stopped wearing them.

MISTAKE. In my stretch pants and jeans, I gained over 10 pounds and they still fit!

NEVER, EVER again. When I reach my goal, all my pants, slacks and jeans will be regular fabric with no stretch blend at all. So, when I gain five pounds, I have to LOSE it!
