To eat or not to eat

I am trying to lose weight and so I am trying to keep my caloric intake at 1500 to 1800, and if I eat healthy I usually get full before I get to 1500 cal, so I don't know if I should stop eating or to keep eating healthy until I get to 1500 goal.
I ask this because before I started to try and lose weight I counted calories to find out if I was eating enought and I found that most of the time I ate about 900 calories (and I know that is not enough)for several days then I would binge or something and go beyond 2,000 calories.
So I am not sure which way to go, any thoughts or ideas would be great!

At what calorie count do you get full? It is recommended that you don't go below 1,200 calories per day, so even if you get full before 1.500 calories, yet are above 1.200 then you're "safe"... Nutrition experts do not recommend getting below 1,200 because it slows down your metabolism. And you already have a bad experience with eating at 900 calories and binging afterwards and I guess you didn't see much weight loss as a result, right?
So I guess what I'm trying to say is, in the days you feel full before you reach your goal of 1.500 calories, make sure that you eat at least 1,200 calories.
