Goals for next week? Goals for LAST week?

Well, best of intentions, but blast if I didn't !@#$^&^(%^&% my "$*$^%*&)&^)"@#@ knee two weeks ago! It's almost funny; that simple bit of daily walking that I thought was nothing (around 2 X 1.5 miles a day) really DOES make a difference after all! I'm now able to hobble around a bit, and visit my physician tomorrow morning for some advice, but thought I'd also turn this out to the experts:

What kind of exercise can I do without putting too much pressure (or torque) on a slowly healing knee?

Thank you!!!

I am sorry to hear you're so frustrated and I am sorry to hear about your knee injury (this injury really sucks!)

Thanks, Mary! I feel much better about the whole prospect now, and am reminded that I'm in this for the long haul. And I'll be checking for that advice ...

if you have access to a pool you can try treading water/water aerobics/swimming. the recumbent bikes & eliptical machines are good low impact workouts. Also I've heard those handbikes (stationary unit you "pedal" with your hands) can still provide you with a pretty good cardio workout. check with your doc to see what exercises he can recommend for you.

good luck and let us know!

Good suggestions, thank you! Our pool won't open until Memorial Day, but I'm really looking forward to that...until then, just taking it pretty easy while I'm on the mend.

(And please don't get me started on my physician. She WILL NOT address the fact that my weight is a health problem, limits me in any way, and she ignores me or changes the subject when I bring it up. In all other ways, she's great... generally good medical care and advice... but this blind spot of hers is getting to be a problem for me. Hate the idea of "dr. shopping" but...)
