Good Afternoon Everyone. I'm new here and was hoping to find some additional support as I embark on this journey I am calling my life.

I recently turned 30 years old and decided that I'd like to spend the next 30 years a bit more healthy and happier. When my weight reached the all time high of 316 I knew that my options were to either change my lifestyle or keep killing myself.

I have a wonderful boyfriend who loves me as I am and reminds me often how beautiful I am...problem is that I don't believe him, and I have a tough time hearing the compliments even though I know he's being sincere. My problems are in my perception of myself.

To muddy the waters further I have Systemic Lupus and suffer from a variety of problems associated to the disease. Joint pain, lung problems, clotting problems and rashes sometimes make me feel like a hopeless case. On the flip side, I firmly believe that losing a lot of the weight will help control the disease if only by making me feel better and making it easier for me to move around!

I'm hoping that with positive self-reflection, reading and learning from the Dr. Phil weight loss book, exercise, and emotional healing that I'll be able to beat this and live a fuller and happier life. Success is achieved by having a well-laid plan..so I'm here to plan and be accountable.

Thanks for listening and I look forward to meeting everyone.

Welcome Melanie!

Hi, my name is ANN and I'm 35. I have also been reading the Dr. Phil weight loss book, maybe we can compare notes. :-) I wish you the best of luck and look forward to getting to know you better. I'll be here to support you through your weight loss journey, as well as the other wonderful ladies on the board. I started my life style change in January within a couple pounds of your starting weight.

You can also feel free to email me through my profile, since I don't make it to the board every day. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your progress! :-)

Welcome Melanie,
I'm reading Dr. Phil's weight loss book also. I don't read it as much as I should. Glad you found the board. Everyone here is so supportive. I'm still a little new but I read the post every day. I have had weight trouble all my life. Now with my 3rd child I went up to 300. I did come down to 287 but can't seem to get by it right now. My son is 8 months old and my daughter is 9 yrs old.

Hello.

I am also new here. Purchased Dr. Phil's book a few years ago and haven't made it past the first couple of pages. I look at it often and tell myself I should pick it up and read it. Maybe I could do it with some extra support here and know I am not alone. I am starting at 326. Was 365 two years ago. Starting to have problems with severe arthritis in my knee and the doctor is suggesting a knee replacement. I'm am only 46 and not ready to go to that extent. This means I desperately need to lose weight. Hoping these message boards will help me along. Thank you.
