OK I'm obviously obsessed with the 100 number LOL

I thought it would be nice to gather all the diet & exercise tips & tricks that we have in one thread. It will help us learn from each other and it can offer a good guide for new members as well.

I'll open:

1. Take small steps instead of trying to change all your life at once. This way it's less likely for you to get overwhelmed.

32. Keep going even when you mess up. A few bad days, compared to several good days, really won't do much damage.

33. Find out why you eat things sometimes. Stress eating, boredom etc. And learn how you best can avoid those times.

34. If you're facing trouble with exercise, try to find non-formal ways to get some activity in. I recently discovered that when I play with my son in the park, I burn about 250 calories in one hour.. and I don't really feel I'm exercising and can easily go for 2+ hours.. not to mention the great bonding with my son.

What has helped me the most is doing something active while doing something I love. My greatest example is while I watch tv, I do sit ups, leg lifts, jump rope, and lift my 5lb weights. I also stretch and other things to prevent injury. By combining this with good eating, I have lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks!!

35. problems eating your veggies? try V8.. losing the fiber but still get the nutrients.

36. go dancing with friends or your SO. A great bonding experience and burnin calories to boot. too shy to dance in public? dance around the house (you can be extra goofy there!) :)

37. mix up your routine so you don't get bored

# 39. Hold a toothpick or a popsicle stick in your mouth while you're cooking...makes you THINK before you munch since you actually have to take the wood out of your mouth!

# 40. If you start to crave something or are headed into a high-risk activity, call a friend. "Hi, I'm going to bake cookies to put in the freezer for hubby's lunch and I don't want to eat any. Can you call me back in 30 minutes to an hour to see how I'm doing?" That accountability can work wonders!

42. Smoothies are great for a quick breakfast summer. I usually have this before I head for work. I use plain fat free yogurt with fruits of the season. Peaches are my favorite. It's a great way to sneak in some servings of fruit.

43. Don't eat out of the container. Always use plates
