OK I'm obviously obsessed with the 100 number LOL


I thought it would be nice to gather all the diet & exercise tips & tricks that we have in one thread. It will help us learn from each other and it can offer a good guide for new members as well.


I'll open:


1. Take small steps instead of trying to change all your life at once. This way it's less likely for you to get overwhelmed.

47. Sometimes it is better to have a small amount of what you are craving, even if it isn't a healthy choice. Trying to fix the urge with other things can leave you unsatisfied and you can end up eating more calories in the long run. Just make sure you savor every bite!

49. same kind of idea as the last poster- keep a pair of your "fat jeans" to remind you of where you were... or try em on and watch them fall off.. always good for a pick me up :)

50. Try sucking on a piece of hard candy if you're craving something sweet. as long as you don't chew them and go back for more like I usualy do!

51. even if you feel like you don't want to exercise- try doing some activity for just 10 minutes. If you feel like stopping after that, it's ok, but at least you got a little bit o workout in

52. If you tend to snack in front of the TV, try knitting or another hand-occupying habit to help you avoid reaching for the goodies.

53. Or better still, jump on a treadmill/exercise bike/whatever while watching. Yes, technically, it's possible to snack while walking on a treadmill... but would you?

54. Staying with the TV theme, when a commercial comes on while you are watching, stand up and just walk in place while the commercials run. When the show comes back on feel free to sit back down. You can get like 15 minutes suring an hour program.
