Hi Everyone,
My name is Laura. I need to lose over 130 lbs to be at my high ideal weight. I weigh the most now I've ever weighed. 259 lbs. I always had a weight problem but never thought I would get over 200. I have a closet full of nice clothes I can't get into. I can't see my feet. It hard to bend over and then get back up. I feel bloated all the time. I've tried to lose weight so many times. I can't seem to get motivated to start again I'm 39 years old and I can feel how years of being overweight is effecting my health. I have no energy and I can't get comfortable at night to sleep. But I know I have to try again. Atkins worked best for me at one time but it's seems so expensive. Any suggestions?
Thanks for listening to me whine..

Hi Laura and welcome to the board... Congratulations on the decision to lose weight.. For me, getting myself in the right mind and wanting to lose the weight is always a huge first step. I can't really offer much advice on Atkins and other low-carb diets (it's not my thing).. I am on a no-diet approach.. I make healthier choices and stay on a certain calorie range and it works for me.. of course everybody is different and you'll have to search for something that you can stick to for life..

Why don't you try to make a few changes first until you find something that works for you.. I mean stuff like cutting soda, drinking more water, etc. I also suggest journaling for a couple of days to keep track of everything you eat. After a few days, have a look at your journal and see where you can make changes.

Good luck on your journey and keep us posted
