Hey everyone. Well to give u a breif about me.. im 22, married, and just had a baby. She is almost 6wks old. (my profile is old and outdated on here). Well, to start off, both me and my husband are very overweight. We both need to lose about 100lbs a piece. I know that we need to work-out but the part that im really worried about is eating. I'm not a very good cook and i only know how to cook a few things. Most of the time we eat out. I need some help and some great ideas about what to cook. We really want to get into shape before our baby girl is old enough to go to the park, ect. We really want to be able to play with our child and try to keep up with her when she is a bit older. We have both agreed that we need to eat better and start working out. The only thing that we do now, is that we drink diet pop. Please help and give me some ideas... for the sake of our lil one!!!!

Thanks so much---

Hi Tara.. welcome aboard. Great job with switching to diet pop.. that will really make a difference with your overall calories.

I am not a good cook either.. I really don't like to cook much, but I found that healthy cooking is not very difficult.. I just twist the recipes I know a bit and it does cut a lot of calories. Also something I found that really helped is cooking in bulk. Once

Welcome and Good luck to you both. I can't really offer any good advice considering I haven't really lost any weight. Exercise is definitely a plus but I know it can be hard to find time with a little one so good luck to you and I hope you succeed.

One of the best baked chicken recipes I've ever tasted is at http://www.cyber-kitchen.com/recipes/Foolproof_Sticky_Chicken.htm. It's called Mimi's sticky chicken. I pull the skin up and rub the seasoning directly on the breast meat for me since I remove the skin before eating. If you have leftovers, they are great in soup or on a salad with black beans and salsa as dressing. They aren't joking when they say it is foolproof, either.
