I know what you mean. When I saw a photo of myself sitting on the beach, I was HORRIFIED. It was AWFUL. It was like, "I look like a fleshy sausage crammed into a bathing suit."
Ugh. Rolls and cellulite and chunckiness and flesh spillage and *oh gosh*...
It was a REAL wake-up call. I looked like a heart attack AND a stroke waiting to happen.
The hardest part about seeing myself in a photograph was that I KNEW there was no more kidding myself that I didn't look "that bad" and that I wasn't "that big". The reality? I looked huge and gross and I was BIG.
I keep that picture of me sitting on the beach (see: ORCA) and I also keep a picture of me when I was fit and buff. I look at the fat beach picture in horror and promise I will NEVER do that to myself again. I look at the fit and buff picture as a reminder of where I will be soon. I WILL be fit and buff again. All it takes is TIME and EFFORT.
Ah... now I remember why I avoid the cameras at all cost.
But it's great that you're looking at this as a motivator. If you ever feel you've lost momentum, remember how you looked like in that picture and remember your reaction and tell yourself that you'll never go there again.
You sound like me, I would soooooo like to look like my senior portiat again, weighing maybe 115 lbs at 5'8, okay I know that is too thin but that was the highest I had ever been at that time and I was model thin. Want to hear the kicker of why I was the highest weight I had ever been then....I was 3 months pregnant with DD. LMAO. No seriously I would love to look like I did after I had her and lost about 40 lbs. I weighed around 140 and I looked healthy and fit, but at this point I would be thrilled just to see 220 again so........WORK WORK WORK. Do the pics really work?? I mean personally I just look in the mirror and get disgusted so taking a pic is the last thing I want to do.

So brave! But I see your photo here with cheekbones and a beautiful smile, so it's a moderate "ugh", right?

How kind of you to say that!
