I have been doing the Low calorie diet and I reccomend it to
anyone who needs to lose 100 lbs or more.I have been eating
around 800-900 calories a day and this includes my healthy
turkey sandwhich w/mustard a healthy choice or southbeach
frozen dinner an apple or bannanah and 2 low calorie fatfree
snacks nd its working great and it's good for motivation I lost
24 lbs so far since april 7th and the plan says this is for
the morbid obese(which I am) to lose 50 lbs in 12 weeks with
800-1075 calories a day and exersice (which I walk 2 miles a day
and do 25 situps)but it motivates ya to see the weight melt away
and 50 lbs lighter helps some of your health problems go away and
get more energy to do more exercise it does note do only for 12 weeks.
So if any1 has tried this I would love to hear your story good or bad!

Hi,

I've been trying to stay between 1200-1300 calories a day, too. I think Lori must be on to something... after days "off the wagon", I seem to come back with faster losses. Maybe a 1600-calorie day a week would keep things moving?

That said, I live in dread of "shutting down" my metabolism by going too low-cal. My nutritionist recommended at least 1200 calories per day, but I didn't press her about the reason. I really do need to be in this for the long haul, and quick-fixes aren't in her repertoire. But next visit, I'm asking for the rationale...

Niapage--

This sounds like a dream come true.. i'm at the end of my rope and am willing to give almost anything a try at this point..
Could you please give me an idea of what a normal day's eating looks like for you?

And do you know anyplace where I can get some more information?

Thanks a bunch!!

I did a google search for low calorie diet and
the diet channle.com /lowcalorie diet explains more
about it.I to wanted a good kick start and it even
mentions not to do this diet for a long period of time
(3-6 months) but 255 is so unhealthy and having no
energy is hard to I have noticed since the weight is
melting away I have been wanting to walk more and
shopping for more healthier foods.
I love it and days if I feel a little more hungry
I snack on really low calorie and fat free foods.
DQ(DAIRY QUEEN)an fudge vanilla swirl ice cream on
a stick 60 calories/ 0 fat 15 carbs
well good luck and keep posting your success.

Misha,

This is what I read: when you go below 1,200 your body thinks that it is being starved, so the basic survival instincts kick in. The body lowers its resting metabolic rate (i.e. burns less calorie in everyday activities). So if you do this for a long time, the body eventually

Thats why your not suppose to do the 800-1000 calorie diet
without being monitored by a physician(like with any diet)and
it's reccomended for the serious obese and reccomended to stay
o it for 12 weeks to drop the 50 lbs.
Then I am assuming the weightloss slows down and you can add
more calories 1000-1200 or 1200-1500 which ever suites you and
by then whatever exercise you are doing should continue and should
have doubled atleast example I walk 2 miles a day now and after the
12 weeks I will move up to 4-5 miles a day to keep losing the weight
after I up my calories. Atleast thats the plan at this time.

And best of luck to you! You were, of course, right... I just like to worry too much, I guess! Hope I didn't offend you...
