Hey princess!
welcome back the the boards. There are a lot of great people here from all walks of life. Some are losing fast, some are losing slow, some aren't losing at all.. but the trick is to keep trying! my condolences on the loss of your cousin. Tragedy does have a way of setting us back.
it's hard to give tips when I'm not sure where you're starting from, but...starting small and working up is the only way I seem to make anything stick.
maybe you should start with a food/exercise journal for a week and see what kind of activites you're doing... what kind of food you're eating and why and see where you can make adjustments.
I'm sure the other folks here have some gerat advice for you
keep posting.. let us know how you're doin
My First 10% of Body Weight
I hear ya. I am a big emotional eater, and I HATE IT! I fight with hubby, grab the ice cream. Get depressed, pass the chocolate. LOL! But, I am trying and I can only do what I can do. The weight isn't going to melt off.
Also, if you mess up, like you eat something you shouldn't, try not to say "I blew it for the whole day, who cares!" That is my biggest thing. Let yourself mess up, but dust yourself off, and get right back on track.
I also have been off track for about a month now. So, I am also trying to "dust myself off and get back up." But its hard. Good luck to you!!!
Welcome back caveprincess. I am sorry to hear about your loss.
As already mentioned, journaling may be a good start. Just to record what you're doing (food,
Hello, cavprincess--
I'm very sorry for your loss; that must have really thrown you. The previous suggestions for getting started/back on track are all good ones-- journals can be real eye-openers. For me, walking has been a godsend. I was surprised at just how sedentary I'd become, and began with a cheap pedometer and walking. 10k steps a day fits in to my schedule pretty easily, and after the first couple of days, it felt GREAT. Helped with my mood, my appetite... now I need to add some "real" exercise!
Best of luck to you...
