Hey Shawna! welcome back to the board! Congratuations on quitting smoking.. that is a feat in and of itself.. something you should be proud of! Also you should be proud that while you gained back some weight.. you didn't gain it all back. You saw what was happening and decided that NO you would NOT gain all 91 lbs back again... many others (like myself) have not been as fortunate..that is a beautiful thing. I wish you much luck in your journey..and look forward to getting to know you better
Hi. Welcome back to the board. Congrats on everything you've done so far. I too am trying to quit smoking. I try to drink plenty of water and watch my portions. I love to have 2nds. I always get mad at myself for making myself uncomfortably ful. Good luck. And I look forward to getting to know you more.
Huge congratulations on quitting smoking! If you can lick that demon, the rest will surely follow. And congratulations for not just saying THWI and putting back on all the weight you'd lost and then some.
This is a good time of year for getting back on track-- lots of lovely fruits and vegetables around, and we can get outside for exercise and sunshine (before it's too muggy to breathe here in Baltimore)!
BTW, your fur-babies are so cute! I guess they won't be wanting a playdate with my cats, though... ;-)
Hi there...I think I may remember you. I used to be on this board about 5 years ago when it was the original 100+ board. I found it again not too long ago and came back to be encouraged and to encourage others. Nice to have you back.
One day at a time...we march..... Hand in hand.......getting fit is our motto!! That does not rhyme!! (smile)
Oh well, nice to have you back and keep going. You are an overcomer.
Welcome back! I reconize your name, I used to come here alot back in 2001/2002 then I fell of the wagon, I found my way back here for support and to stay motivated. Good luck to ya starting 255/now227/mini goal 199/main goal 155 NIAPAGE
Hi Shawna! Welcome back to the board. I just came back myself yesterday. I think I remember seeing you here in October/November of 2005. Thats when I was here last. Congratulations on quitting smoking. The weight-gain won't last forever, especially since you've acknowledged it and are willing to do something about it. And I think you'll find that the weight will come off even easier when you aren't having to take meds for depression/anxiety. It always boggles my mind about those meds--you start taking them because of depression/anxiety that is probably due largely in part to being overweight, but the medication itself causes weight gain as one of the side effects. Kinda a catch-22, ya know? I too used to smoke, although I am very fortunate to have not been a heavy smoker to begin with, so I think quitting was probably easier for me than most people. Not trying to brag or anything like that, just wanted you to know that I understand about the nic fits and rotten moods that go along with them. I am 31 yrs. old, and currently weigh in at around 355 pounds. I am going back to Weight Watchers on Tuesday evening, so I'll get the exact weight there. I hope to get down to around 140 pounds or so. As you can see by the difference in the numbers, my journey will be a long one, but I hope posting and reading here at this board will go a long way in helping me achieve my goals. Good luck with the weight-loss and with staying nicotine-free. Hang in there girl. Sincerely, Katherine
You've been going through a lot of stuff.. congrats on getting off that medication and feeling good again!! I hope you never have to take that again. And congratulations on the pounds lost!!
And most of all.. WELCOME BACK!! You were VERY missed (and I'm very late to that freakin meeting and I have to run.. will ramble again tomorrow :)
Welcome back, Shawna! I remember you from when I was here the last time. I just came back to the board a week or so ago and I was wondering where you had disappeared to! Congrats on quitting smoking (I wish I could) and welcome back!
