My name is Christine and I am a sahm of 2 girls (ages 7 nd 21 months). I have A LOT of weight to lose. I am 255 pounds and 5 ft. 7 Inches and just tired of being like this. I have done this before where I feel geared up and ready to go and fell on my face within a day or 2. Somehow this feels different. Its more quiet than my usual sudden bursts to get fit. It's just something inside me that wont let me give up with time.
ANYWAY, I hope to get to know some of you and maybe even make a new friend on my path to better health.
Christine

Welcome and good luck to you. I know how you feel I have tried several times too but always crashed after a short time, not this time, I have had this mindset for over 6 weeks, granted, I am struggling and haven't really lost much but I am still determined to learn and change. Good luck.

Welcome to the board Christine.. we're glad to have you with us. I've crashed and burned for a whole year before I finally became determined to lose the weight. I've been at it for about a year now.. lost and gained momentum several times, but I never gave up and I never gained weight. It was either losing or maintaining.
My advice to you is never to give up.. if you feel you slipped off, don't wait for next week to start back again, just get back to it the next minute. Get over your slip and keep going.
Also, don't jump in too deep at first: exercising an hour a day and keeping a very strict diet. It won't work. You need to start with something that you can do for a while, then up it when you feel ready. Changing a lot of things at once is very difficult and it will be a constant struggle just to get through the day and eventually you give up. But with manageable goals, you can do it!
Good luck and keep us posted
I am just trying to be "real" with myself. I am trying to get to the bottom of this. I know the fads dont work and eventually you end the diet but not the habits. I am trying to change my lifestyle and my habits.
Thanks for the support (all of you).
Christine
