A kitchen makeover!
| Tue, 05-16-2006 - 8:31am |
I was thinking about giving our homes a very slow kitchen makeover. We chose one thing to substitute or get rid of every week. Just one thing every week. The rule is, once something gets out, it cannot get back in. I even bet the other family members will not feel the switch to the healthier eating.
Today when I get home I'll have a look at my pantry and see what's the first thing to get out.

I like this idea, especially with our diabetics in the house.
I'm with you on this Mary!!
Karen
doesn't gain weight so his attitude is he can eat what he wants!
Plus I have 4 small kiddies well 1 is on formula not a prob lol!
I do have my 2 little drawers in the fridge with my healthy
foods and I also have a small cabinet just for me also with my
healthy foods because it would be hard to open my cabinet up
every morning and see mt slimfast meal bars here and donuts there
lol. NIAPAGE
Karen, what did you find?
I found 10 bottles of regular soda (GASP).. They were leftover from my SIL's wedding plus some I bought when we expect guests coming. And 4 of them are open and sitting there in the fridge all nice and cold. I am giving them all away. There are a couple of Pepsi cans in the pantry, but I hid them very high. Now I know I have Pepsi around and won't be buying any regular soda for guests. and at the same time we don't have access to them (you have to get a ladder and we won't get into all that trouble)
I found some frozen thin mint girlscout cookies in the freezer(oohh they are so good cold). I pulled them out and gave them to my neighbor...
They are my favorite but way too bad because I could and have eaten a whole sleeve in one sitting.

Congrats Mary and Karen:
I would love to join you in this but like Nia not a chance, and no mary I am not responsible for all the coooking...LOL When Dh gets himself into trouble he cooks quite regularly for a while and if not then he still does when he is TIRED of my food...LOL I have been eliminating myself from stuff though does that count? I have cut back to 1 or less soda a day, afraid to cut them all the way for fear of the migraines hitting but I am down to only drinking a whole one every now and again. I tried to cut out the fast food but damn near went insane, but I have tried to make healthier choices there instead of whatever (until the weekend when I got so mad that is...LOL). I try to just get 1 thing not the whole meal. Namely my fries, cuz I am addicted to those DARN things. They aught to come with a warning label.
