I have been "trying" to loose weight for years, and the same pattern emerges.

Are you sure I didn't post this?? I feel so much like this it isn't even funny. Only differences is I have 3 kids and I go to school. All I can tell you is get determined. I mean up til a couple months ago I would do the same thing, after a couple days or a week I would get tired of it all and crawl back into my hole but now I just keep coming back, I have bad days (this whole week) but then I have good days, and I figure if I can lose a lb or too here or there then I am still doing something til I get my mind there enough to stick to it. So just keep picking yourself back up after a few days rather than a few weeks/months and you will make some progress. Learn what your calorie amount to maintain is and concentrate on not going over that no more than possible and staying well below is as much as possible. There are bad days, and we all have them but we can do this. GOOD luck to you.

Hi. I SO understand what you are going through!!! I have alot of ups and downs. The way I get through it is this...

Make eating healthy easy. Have healthy convenience foods available. If you have to spend more $$ to buy already cut fruit and veggies and lower fat alternatives of other foods then do it.

On nights when I don't feel like cooking, I microwave a frozen meal. Not the ones from the store, which have tons of salt. Over the weekend, I cook a BIG thing of chili, soup, casserole, etc and freeze it in portions. Then I microwave them through the week if I am in a hurry or just don't feel like cooking.

Understand that maybe going to the gym is NOT for everyone. I have found out that it is NOT for me. I do better doing something active everyday like washing the car, heavy housecleaning, lugging piles of laundry up and down the stairs at home, parking in a space far from where I am going, using the stairs instead of an elevator, going for a walk, running & playing with my students at recess (elem. teacher), doing an exercise video and things like that. I love the gym, but I don't use it...so why waste the money just because it is the "right" thing to do. Not for everybody.

Anyway, these are a couple of things that I do. Just know that there are many people out there in the same boat! I am rooting for you!!!

HUGS,

Autumn

Thanks for the support:)

The hard part for me is how easy it is to ignore my goals.

I hope you are successful! Taking one step at a time is wonderful advice. Personally, I hit rock bottom on Dec. 13. As someone on this board once said, I realized the pain of staying in my situation was worse than the pain of getting out of it. I had started taking small steps before then, but really hit it hard on Dec. 14. Since then, I've lost about 48 lbs. I have bad days when I think I could eat everything in the house. No matter what happens, though, I keep telling myself that tomorrow is another chance to do things the healthy way. Besides, everybody needs a break now and then. It helps keep you motivated. I also focus on small goals - 10 lbs. at a time, and give myself a nonfood reward when I get there. Good luck on your journey!
