Hello ladies, I've been lurking around on ivillage for quite some time, but finally have decided to take the plunge and get serious about my weight loss. Was just at my boyfriend's brother's wedding, and it was a real eye opener that I need/want to loose weight if I want to look good in a wedding dress someday. I look forward to getting to know some of you ladies. I live in the Dallas area and figured this would be a good place to start getting me accountable to something. Last weigh, I was creeping on the 250 lb mark and want to loose exactly 100 pounds and get back to the 150 i knew and loved. And I can't wait. Ideas and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated and noted :)

Hi Marie and welcome to the board. What are you doing to get started? Here's some ideas: drink plenty of water, start cutting out the "bad" stuff, stock up on fresh fruit and veggies and start to exercise. Good luck.

Welcome, Marie, and good luck to you! If you aren't exercising regularly, it's amazing how much better walking will make you feel...

Having been on the wonderfully popular life-long yo-yo diets, I got a good idea of where to start, I drink about 60-80 ounces of water every day (thankfully i'm allowed to drink bottles of water at my desk at work) and definatly have felt the affects of that for some time now. I know my downfall is not getting off my butt and exercising more. And already have a exercise routine ready to set into action when i'm done running around this weekend. 30 minutes of walking at least 5 days a week and weight lifting/strength training 2-3 times a week. The hard part of all this....the bf. and not giving in when he has a craving or picks up something on the no-no list. But I've done it before, and i'll do it again!

Hi there and welcome to the board!!

Looks like you already have a plan.. that's great. I am a slacker when it comes to exercise myself and I've been doing well for 2 days.. I know it doesn't seam like much, but I just take it one day at a time.. keep your fingers crossed LOL.

Do you think you can stick with the exercise routine you have? It sounds like a lot of hard work. If you feel that you can stick with it, then great. If you think it is a bit challenging, maybe you can start out slower and once you establish the habit you can build up from there..

Good luck! I am looking forward to knowing you better
