hello everyone!
I weighed 236 today, and have been up and down the scale for the past 4 years. My desire is to get under 200. I would be sooo happy. My ultimate goal is 145 or so.More than that I hope to get more energy and make friends on this board! Is there any guideline that says this is what we do or follow on this board? I noticed there is talk of journaling, is that required? I think it's a great idea. Anything else?

Hi there!
You came to the right place if what you are looking for is a great support structure. The people on this board are really wonderful and helpful. My name is Katherine, by the way. I'm 31 and married to a super guy. No children. I've got about 205 lbs. to go to meet my goal weight. A lot of us here follow low-calorie plans, Weight Watchers, all different types of weight loss strategies really. If you have any questions, or just want to vent, this is the place to come and post. (or even just lurk;))We aren't required to journal on here. Its just something you can do if you want to. I just started a journal on here a couple days ago, but I find it helps to keep me accountable. Hope to see you back here real soon. And good luck on your new, healthy journey.
Katherine
349.2/344.4/140 (Thats starting weight/current weight/goal weight)
Mini-goal: to fit into a pair of size 26 jeans :-)
P.S. I follow Weight Watchers myself. Just started over again on May 9,2006

Hi there, welcome to the board. There are NO guidelines on this board. We each do our own thing, but we share ideas, troubles, we vent but ultimately we SUPPORT each other.

I think journeling is important. It keeps you accountable for what you eat. Someone once told me "If you bite it, write it".

Other then trhat, once you decide on what type of weight loss plan you are going to follow, I would make sure to include a lot of water, and try to get in a little exercise each week to.

Again, welcome to the board.

Hello there and welcome to the board..

There are no guidelines to follow here except for the general guidelines of ivillage (no personal attacks on other members, no advertising, etc)

Other than that, just post away.. reply to any threads or post new threads of your own. We have several folders on board.. for support, chit chat, celebrations, etc. We have a section for journaling & challenges. You can start your own journal down there if you like. You can join any ongoing challenges or start a new one. We also do weekly weigh-ins and weekly goals. Nothing is mandatory, just post whatever you like.

I'm looking forward to knowing you better.

Hi Mary,
Do you post your weight on the same day every week? Thanks for the encouragement.I like those ticker tapes. Congrats on your weight loss! That's great. I hope I can lose some so I can put up my own progress.

I post a weigh-in thread in the celebrations area every Monday. You can weigh-in any day you like and add your weight anytiime during the week. You can also post a seperate thread and celebrate your weight loss or other NSV's (non scale victories) like fitting into a smaller size, exercising when you usually don't, and so on.
