I weigh 217, gained almost 20 pounds after New Years Day due to starting studies in Master's program, stopping any excersicing, quitting smoking.
I have been feeling terrible recently healthwise and emotionally. After so many tears and self-battles I am on a fresh start and am sure this will be the last battle. I just calculated that I need 4 months to get down to my target weight of 140. I am not going to tell anything to my family and friends about my new plan, so that all the enrgy will remain inside me. I am going to excercise almost an hour every day, 2 days a week I will be fasting.
Yesterday I was reading Bragg's The Miracle of Fasting and decided to follow some of his advice. I know that the first few days of my new program will be really tough. I am going to pray and believe that this time I will have enough power to get out of this black hole.
Tomorrow I will scan my pictures before gaining all these 77 pounds for the last 6 years and a current picture....
I don't want to use words "I hope, I will try, may be" because there is no road back to this terrible situation that I am in.

Hi there and welcome to the board.
I applaud your determination and strong will to do this once and for all. I agree that when you put your mind to something, you can and will do it.
But I have to say that in my opinion
Good luck and welcome aboard!!!
Can I ask why it has to be done in 4 months? If it is personal and you wish not to share, I most definitely understand.

Thank you for your reply.
You are right, it is very hard to do what I said; however it is even harder for me, if not impossible, to move slow. At least this way I will get rid of the pounds, by then my stomach will be smaller and I will eat less, and of course whatever I will eat will not be as fattening as now.
One thing I am really concerned about is the excess skin. I think if I lose weight in a year vs. 4 months, won't I get the same results? Will my skin be OK then?
Well, loose skin is tricky. They say that losing slower help
