Best time to exercise??

I am at a crossroads about when to exercise! Fiance's mother is a nurse and she told us that the best time to exercse is 30 min after you eat. My dad's personal trainer told him that the best time to exercise is in the morning. I read online that you should try to exercise mid-day. Lol..anyone know the most effective time to exercise? I like waking up at 5:30 am to go out b/c there is no one else in the exercise room at that time (I am weird about working out in front of people!), and I just feel good about myself all day. That's my favorite time!

I honestly have no idea when the "best time" is..like you said.. everyone says something different. The way I see it, it doesn't matter when what matters is that you're exercising!

so if 5:30am works for you then go to it girl!! :)

I also like first thing in the morning. I have been told that doing cardio is best done on an empty stomach.

Everyone is different, I think as long as you do it, the time of day doesn't matter.

Then 530 am is the best time for you in my opinion. I too prefer morning exercise due to I prefer to exercise before I eat anything or at least anything heavy, but anytime you can get in is a good time in my opinion.

If you can commit to a certain time, then it's the best time for you. Go ahead and exercise at 5.30.. as long as you don't feel faint after your exercise then this is a great time for you. Some people have to eat something before exercise so that they have the energy to finish their exercise. But everybody is different. I can't eat before I exercise because I

Any time you can fit it in is good! As for what's best, it seems that you have a schedule that works for you... so I say go for it.

I also prefer to exercise on an empty stomach if I have the option. Sometimes my muscles feel like jelly afterwards, though. A few years ago, an aerobics instructor told me that heavy exercise can deplete your potassium level, and she suggested eating a banana about 1/2 hour before exercising. It might be placebo effect, but it does seem to help.

Lol..that is the time my hubby gets up to get ready to work and I try to sneak in a 30 minute exercise at the exercise room before he leaves. Then I come home take a shower and go to sleep until ds wakes up (around 9-ish). I feel better when I wake up and then it's on to chores and playtime with ds!!

any time that you can do it and stick to a program everyone is different.

for me personally i eat breakfast early and then exercise. I find if I don't do it then, i am too tired to exercise after a long day at work and then it won't happen. Play around with different times of the day and see when you feel most comfortable doing your workout.
