60 pounds will take time darling. set mini goals of 5 or ten pounds. they're more reachable and come a little faster than the ultimate goal. reward yourself when you get to those mini goals. 5 pounds is just as important as 60. are you cutting calories? what else are you doing other than the tred mill? they don't call it the battle of the bulge because it's easy. it's a battle of old habits with new healthier more postive ones.

just hang in there and keep the faith in yourself. you can do it, we know you can.

Welcome to the board, you have come to the right place.

We can offer you the support and friendship you need.

You are on the right track. WW is a great way to go. (A few of us here follow it). You are doing all the right things...A good eating plan, drinking water, exercise...You need to know that the results will come...A leader in a WW once told us, you didn't gain the weight overnight, do not expect to lose it.

Set a small goal for yourself 1st...say 10 pounds...It is easier when you focus on small goals sometimes then the big picture.

This friend that is coming to see you, is this an online roamnce? I met my dh that way. Just know that anyone who judges people only by the outside and not the inside in my opinion are not worth the time of day! JMO.

Again, welcome...

Hey, and welcome to the board. Good luck to you.

I just wanted to try to give you a good laugh here so bear with me, but have you ever told a dr. that you were ?? I did a few months ago. I went into the dr. YET again sick as I don't know what, couldn't breathe, head killing me, and sick to my stomach and just ickky feeling. When the nurse asked me what was wrong I told her that I was just plain sick and tired of being sick and tired........OMG she almost fell to the floor. That was oringinal she said. So I get back to the room and the dr comes in and he is reading my chart, then he laughs, looks up at me and says so you are sick and tired of being sick and tired huh?? Anyways, they found it very amusing that I worded it that way. I had all of the complaints that you had plus some. Needless to say, months later, I am finally able to exercise without keeling over and I am able to function. Their main concern was my out of control asthma at the time, and some of the medications they tried made me worse for a while but my point is that with time it will improve. IF I can battle breathing problems, sinus infections and respiratory infections that won't go away, and still fight to lose weight then anyone can do it. Let me tell you one thing, even now I get depressed, I did today because the scale again went back up a notch, and it is frustrating but it can be done. As for 60 lbs by Sept, that is quite ambitious. I don't know that you will be able to lose 60 lbs by then, but I am no expert. If you are on a very low cal diet you might, but I don't know much about them. I would say that 30 would be a more reasonable goal but once again I am no expert. PLease just don't give up. I have only lost 9 lbs in 3 months and I am still trying. It takes time, and you will feel better with each lb gone. And think about measuring inches too, cuz with you working out regularly you may lose inches but not lbs.
SOrry this got so long, but your post struck a cord in me cuz it sounded so much like me.
BTW your friend that you have never met in person?? I am assuming you met him on the internet...That too struck me cuz that is how my dh and I met. LOL like I said you sound a lot like me. GOOD LUCK!!

Welcome, Anna!

It sounds like you're going about this exactly the RIGHT way. WW is a great program, and all the water and exercise will probably help you feel better soon. 60 pounds by September sounds really ambitious, but I bet you'll be pleased with the improvement even if you don't hit the "magic number" by the time you see your friend.

This board has been an invaluable source of support and information for me. The CLs (and everyone) are great, and it's so helpful to have folks who are going through (or have been through) the same struggles on your side. Looking forward to hearing about your progress...

Welcome!! I am also on WW and have been for the last 3 months. I have lost 26.5 pounds in 13 weeks and that is with losing every week except for one. I think that your expectations are too high for September. Especially with WW, the plan is to lose 1-2 pounds per week. In fact, I lost 3 pounds this week and when I entered that weight into ww.com it sent me a message that I am losing too rapidly and that more than 2 pounds per week (after the initial weeks) is not good. There is less of a chance that you will keep it off.

I wish you the best of luck though! Also, the best help to me was to aim for the first 10% (which I should achieve next week with 1/2 a pound weight loss).

It is possible to lose 60 by 9/30 but not recommended. You will need to create an average daily shortage of 1963 calories. Let's assume that with your current weight and lifestyle you need 2900 calories to maintain your weight on the same level (you have to calculate this by yourself). If you cut your calorie intake to 1200 and also every day do some exercised to burn 763 calories more, then you will lose 60lbs by the end of September. I came up with the number by counting the days till 9/30 (107 days left) then multiplying with 60lbs that you need to lose and then divided by 3500 (the number of calories to burn in order to lose 1lb). Anyway, the most important thing to remember is that you need to make a shortage of 1963 calories.

I join others in saying that it is better to lose less
