Hello everyone as you know or may not know my parents had a horrible house
fire on May 27th and have been in ICU burn center being treated for severe
smoke inhalation (but no burns).Well update my stepdad was released to a
resting home for rehabilatation for a couple weeks he's not walking to good
and unable to do some of the simple things, my mom on the other hand had to
have surgery yesterday morning to have a trache put in because she cant get
of the vinalator and the doc said her situation is very unusual and they have
never seen anything like it because her windpipe is severley damaged and needs
reconstructed they used a deflated balloon as an example of what her windpipe
looks like.
She is a diabetic to a bad 1 at that takes 4 shots a day 2 diff kinds of insullins
she weighs no more than 115 so I hate to see what she weighs when she finally gets
out.
Which brings me to why I haven't been dieting and walking like I was doing I
suck at handleing stress well big stress like this but I weighed myself and
need to get back on track.I went from 255 to 214 before this happened and now
I am 219 so my weight is creeping up again!I misss my low calorie dieting and I
actually miss my 4-5 mile night time walks.I probally would feel somewhat better
if I start losing some weight again to feel better about myself so I am back
for some support again!
Sorry for the long story but wanted to let every1 know what I have been dealing
with the past 3 weeks and thats just medical stuff I am also trying to handle
thier insurance stuff so they can start on thier house (which they havent)it's
kind of hard since they dont have a power of attorney.
Anyway I feel a little better thatI got this off my chest and now back to eating
healthy.

Wow, you've been through a lot lately. I wasn't aware of what happened, but I say kudos on not completely losing control. Also, don't stress too much if you can't really start losing yet again. It's so hard when life is so stressful and it sounds like you still have a bit to get worked out. I would definitely try to start getting your walks in again, though, even if it's only 1 or 2 miles and not the 4-5 you were doing. It can be a great stress reliever and will probably make you feel better than just losing a couple more pounds will right now. I hope everything works out and don't stress yourself too much. We're here for you!

I am sorry things have not gone well with your mom. I was hoping by now they were both doing so much better. I wish you the best of luck in your situation and I will be thinking of you.

Hi, Tammy--

It's so nice to have you back here! Your family is in my thoughts often, and I hope that things continue to improve for them. I think your instincts about diet and especially exercise helping you through this stressful period are right on the money... hugs to you for being so strong!
