Hello everyone. I just joined today, and I hope I've come to the right place. I have about 109 lbs to lose. I have read all the diets and I hate to say it, but if a person wants, they could surely find a diet that fits whatever kinds of foods they want to eat. Some say no carbs, but fat's ok. Some say no fat, but carb's are ok. Some say eat, or your body will slow it's metabolism. Some say eat very little. yadda yadda and phooey! This can't be rocket science. So DH and I have decided that the only thing that makes sense to us is eat only lean meats. Eat no unnatural fats (like mayo, etc). I've given up sugar completely! Not a single grain. I eat no white flour anything. No prepackaged processed anything. Only whole grains, lean meats, and fresh veggies. I do use splenda for coffee and drinks. I read every single label. I buy nothing with sugar or white processed stuff or fat in it. And I haven't lost a single pound! I just don't understand it. Maybe someone here can give me some tips as to what I'm doing wrong. I thought for sure I had found the answer this time, but it appears not. Help!!!!!!!!!

welcome to the board! I'm with Mary, you're making a lot of great choices. I can't add too much to what she recommended. It could be your portion sizes/the amount you eat. She suggested fitday.com, you can also try sparkpeople.com journaling is another great idea. I know it's helped me alot to determine when why and what I eat.
also if you're not exercising now, getting moving a little bit might help kick your metabolism in gear. if you are exercising, you might try doign measurements, maybe you've lost inches.
I'd say if you try a few changes and you're still not losing, talk with your doctor .. he/she might be able to shed some light on the situation.

welcome again.. keep us posted on how you do!

Like the others have mentioned - perhaps you should start a food journal to see how many calories you are consuming.

I love your post. Thank you! That totally makes sense to me. I think I will definitely start a food journal, and learn to live with the fact that I'm not one of those people who can eat anything they want (even the healthy stuff) and not have to worry about portions and measuring. I suppose I'll just have to accept that, and realize it could be worse! :)
