I love my co-workers!

Today's my first day back from maternity leave, and just let me say, I love my co-workers! I can't tell you how many people have told me how good I look today and how pretty I look! Of course, it probably helps that the last 2 months I was here before leave all I wore was oversized sweatshirts and t-shirts and always had my hair back in a pony tail, but it was still nice hearing all those compliments! I feel great and I am actually skinner than most of them have ever seen me (well, I was 2.5 lbs lighter for about a week last year, but still).
On a side note, you had to know it would happen--my first day back and what are they giving away in the break room? Ben & Jerry's Half Baked, my favorite flavor! I avoided it though :).

How nice of them to pay you all of those wonderful comments and try to "sabotage" you with your favorite ice cream :)
Welcome back to work and congrats on resisting ben & jerry's.. that is a triumphant moment!

You're back to work already? And what are you doing with the baby?
You have some nice co-workers.. when I got back to work they wanted ME to throw THEM a party.. since I'm working with an all men crew, they're useless.

Yes, unfortunately I am back to work already :(. I was actually even on unpaid leave for a couple weeks and couldn't afford to take much more time than that unpaid. The good thing is that DF is able to watch her while I am working. He works rotating 12 hour shifts as a dispatcher for a local police department and I get to make my own schedules so it works out perfectly that we don't have to have daycare. The first day back really wasn't too bad, I actually kind of enjoyed knowing that DF was at home getting and idea what it's been like for me the past few weeks. He seemed to think that while I was off work I was sitting at home doing nothing 90% of the time. But, he seemed to have learned a lesson yesterady, because DD would only stop crying for him if he held her so he got NOTHING done and had to wait for me to get home just to start dinner for the guys and I just had to smile. It's amazing that I managed to get dinner cooked and to clean the house periodically and even the kitchen when I was at home with her and he was only able to eat 1 meal the whole time I was gone yesterday because he just couldn't figure it out :)!

Don't you just love it when they figure out we do more than they think we do??? LOL I know that Dh hasn't bugged me about the house since I left him home alone with ALL 3 kiddos and told him to clean the house while I was gone...LMAO, I got home and said why isn't hte house clean and he was like, what is the point in trying they messed up as fast as I cleaned..........I LOVED IT!!!! Of course he is due for another day cuz the comments are starting again, how soon they forget!!!

Good luck to your DF for figuring it out. It is hard to be home alone with a baby when you don't have a clue!!
