What if you were a man? Will you still want to lose the weight so bad? Do you think that just because you're a woman you're more 'pressured' to lose the weight? AND you're more health-conscious?

Sorry for any lurking men, you can always defend your case you know

I think I would simply cuz I was always vain when I was small. But had I been a man I probably wouldn't have gained as much cuz I wouldn't have had babies......LOL

Yes I do think there is more pressure on women to lose weight!!

AND you're more health-conscious?
No I do not think I am more health-concious than i would be if I were a man!

I think that if I was man I wouldn't be so eager to lose the weight. It is getting to be a health issue.
I do believe that as a woman I am more pressured than say my husband to lose weight. We are suppose to be tiny and pettite. Well I will never be pettie,. Not in my structure. But anyways people look at other members of my family and ask how come I'm fat and not skinny like my mom.. Jen

If I were a man I really don't feel that my weight would be as much of an issue. I probably wouldn't feel as bad as I do about my weight either.

As a woman I know that you are looked upon as "gross" if you're overweight. Even if you're clean and you dress well and do your makeup everyday, etc. (you get the point) you are still considered as not attractive because you are fat. We're supposed to look a certain way in the eyes of society. I hope that someday that will change b/c I have news for society...me and lots of other women will never be "model thin" even at goal. There are all different kinds of people that have alot to offer. I mean come on, you're not supposed to judge anyone because of their religion, sexual orientation, race........YET....fat people are (even sometimes publicly) scrutinized and even sometimes humiliated by others. Even the media joins in. How is that fair? Ok, I'm done. lol Sorry to go on like that but it really upsets me!

Good point Angela LOL.. I gained a lot of weight during my pregnancy too

For me, I don't think I will be pressured to lose the weight if I was a man. I am doing this for the looks.. I know I should be concerned about health too, but frankly I'm not. I just want to look good.. and men can get away with this. Which really drives me to the edge, I mean why is it acceptable for men to be overweight GRRRRR

Well, if I were a man and had my current BMI, I hope I'd still want to lose the weight pretty badly for my body's sake.
