Ok, so I've been changing the way I eat. Have been exercising a bit, I know not enough as I should - about once or twice a week having to work it around work and life - But in the last two months I have lost and gained and lost and gained the SAME 5 POUNDS!!!! ARG!
I just don't know what to do anymore. I can't do a "cheat day" every week, so i've got it down to every other week, and it's usually me and the bf going to dinner where I tend to get a grilled chicken this or a salad occationally a small steak. the main splurge is once a month I get buffalo wings (darn things are so addicting). I just don't get it! Am i doing something wrong?! I drink water like a fish with an occational Dr. Pepper when we go out to dinner. I don't think this is all bad, any thoughts? I am just so frustrated that at times i want to just quit!

My best piece of advice would be to start measuring and recording every single thing you eat, at least for a while. Keep a food journal and write down what you ate and how much of it, how many calories, etc. Many foods we think are healthy can still be loaded with calories, and just an extra 100 calories or so at each meal can prevent us from losing weight. A lot of people use online trackers, such as Fitday.com , which are good, but not always 100% accurate, so I would keep a paper journal and write down what you had and the calorie count from the nutrition label and use fitday for items such as meats and vegetables, whose calorie counts don't change. If you keep a food journal for a week or two and find that you are cutting enough calories that you should be losing, you may want to consider getting a check up with your doctor and see what he/she recommends. Hang in there and don't give up! It's hard, but if you just stick with it, all those small changes add up to big rewards.

Hello.
thanks for the advice. After some venting and reflection I feel a bit better. Had a long heart to heart with the bf about getting some better support from him. I had joined one of those food tracking sites, sparkpeople.com, not too long ago, I'm gonna start utilizing it to it's full extent. Going to target or walmart this week to get a planner to track my food with. Set myself some mini-goals in 10 pound incriments and rewards.
For every pound i loose at the end of the month i will pull one dollar and put it in savings so when i reach my goal weight i'll have $100 saved for my rewards :)
For every minigoal i reach i'll reward myself with a new cd or dvd or pair of shoes or something small. still working on getting exercise to properly fit into my messed up schedule. But we're getting there. do what i can when i can.
Good luck to me!

Good luck to you!
One more thing.. take some measurements. You say you've been exercising and for some people (I'm one of them) you can lose inches but the scale can stand still or even show a gain. So take your measurements so that even if the scale is not moving you can still see if you're making progress.
Aiming at my
Good Luck
