I'm Natalie, and I weight 282. My goal is to get down to 210. At 210 pounds I'll be a size 12. What type of diet is everyone doing? Are you taking any diet pills?

Hi and welcome to the board, as well as much luck to you! I have to ask though, How tall are you?
As for plan i count calories and fat!

I'm 5'10. I've lost like 90lbs before with the help of phen fen..and my lowest weight was 212 and i was in a 12 or 13 juniors. Right now I'm in a 22 and I'm so depressed. I was supposed to have Weight loss surgery and it all fell through (long story). So now I need to find a diet that'll work. I love carbs though:( Any advice? ...thanks for the welcome!!

Well everyone is different and you will get a lot of advice here. I haven't lost much weight considering I struggle to stick to any plan!! I will say what works for me, I count calories and fat, but more so the fat. If I can cut my fat levels I tend to lose, but can eat up to 2200 calories or so!! I lose only a lb a week or so WHEN I can stick to this and leave the fast food alone. My problem is I am addicted to fast food! I know I feel worse when I eat it but i can't seem to leave it alone!

Welcome Natalie! I am assuming from your SN you are in Kentucky- I lived there for 4 wonderful years! The plan I am doing is basically weight watchers. I went to meetings and followed the plan to a tea back in 2002- and lost 35 pounds. Well, stress and not excercising anymore made me gain back about 70. What I am doing now is, working out- getting at least 30 minutes of cardio a day- sometimes more. And following the weight watchers points plan. At my weight (260- down 10 from 270) I am allowed 30 points a day- I usually end up eating around 26-28. I am also concentrating on eating MUCH slower. I time our dinners to make sure we take at least 20 minutes. The water is important too- but I have always been a big water drinker- so that is not a big adjustment.
As far as pills, I have never tried any. Good luck in starting out- and you will find a lot of support on this board!!

Welcome Natalie! I've had really limited success over the years following specific diet plans so I'm trying to make a long-term lifestyle change this time. Like Angela I'm focusing on reducing calories overall and avoiding high fat and high sugar foods that make calories zoom up and don't provide much nutrionally. I'm also trying to increase my exercise every week in both intensity and duration. I want long-range success this time. I'm down just over 10 pounds right now, but I must admit it's been a gradual loss--not a path for the impatient. Good luck with however you approach it! Annie
P.S. I have to confess that I personally haven't seen size 12 jeans since I was 150 lbs. and I'm just shy of 5'7". Calculating about five pounds per inch I was imagining you at about 6'7". LOL Just goes to show you how different two people can be. :-)
Hello Natalie and welcome to the board!!!
I started at 319 pounds, lost about 45 on low carb (couldn't take it anymore-love carbs WAAAYYYYY too much), gained a few back, plateaued for about 5-6 months, and started weight watchers about 2 1/2 weeks ago and have lost 10 pounds, bringing me down to about 266.
WHEW!!!! LOL Talk about a process!!!! Just wanted to let you know that I LOVE WWs! It's so realistic and easy....and it really works. If you want steak...you can have it. If you want pizza...you can have it. If you want ice cream...you can have it. SOooo, this is the plan that seems to work for me. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.
Take care,
Melissa
Welcome to the board.
I follow WW.

I am doing Weight Watchers. I do not take any diet pills. I want to achieve my weight loss in a completely natural way.
Good luck to you! I hope you stick around and help share the weight loss experience. Have you decided what you will do?
Melissa
Hi,
I am counting calories and I just started fat. Althought for the last week and a half or so I have been horrible and not counting anything. I need to start doing that again.
Hi Natalie, welcome to the board
I am not on a specific plan myself.. and right now I'm not sure what I'm doing LOL. I'm trying to change my whole concept about food. Watching portions, eating healthier, etc. But I'm mostly counting calories I guess. One thing that really helps me is water and journaling. I writing down every bite I eat. When I don't journal I just cheat a lot because I have amnesia when it comes to food. I haven't tried any diet pills. Thought about it but doesn't have the will to go through with it.
