Okay get this. I went to a water park the day before yesterday. I spent 5 hours playing with my children. A year ago I would have never gone to a water park due to my weight. I actually weigh more this summer, but I felt like life would pass me by and if I don't get out there and do the things I have always wanted to be.
My wonderful husband has been after me to start riding bikes together for years. I have always been afraid I would fall off the bike, it happens almost everytime I get on one...I know I'm a klutz. Well, this morning I actually said "yes, I would like that." I was so excited when I said yes it surprised me.
I haven't been this excited about activity since I had my daughter 8 years ago. I really hope this feeling doesn't go away.
Keep on

You go girl! I know what you mean about refusing to stay on the sidelines. I've never been a particularly sedentary fat person. If more of us just got out there and lived and did what we want to maybe people wouldn't look at us like we don't have a right to be at the pool or the park, etc.
Still, I have had plenty of "what was I thinking" moments too. I caught a glimpse of myself on vacation combing our DD's hair and thought "Holy sh*&! Is that me?" Keep at it! The energy can be pretty addicting! Annie
Good for you. And, how romantic is that?? It may not sound romantic to everyone, but I sure think it is. It will give you a good healthy family activity. I'm happy for you!
Christine
P.S. I haven't fallen off my bike yet....
Congratulations on not falling off your bike. No. I mean, Congratulations on getting out there and riding! : )) I have been going up to the park to walk. I know what you mean about feeling as if you are a part of the community. Keep it up, Baby!
