can't stop!!!!!

Hi. I am hving troubles where I can't stop eatting. I eat all day constantly my mom thinks it is an eatting disorder. What can I do?

A couple things come to mind (things I need to heed, b/c I'm about to raid the kitchen myself--I'm having a moment!)
If you journal what you eat, and you should, write down what you want BEFORE you eat it.
Hi Maryanne! Welcome to our board. My name is Jena. My pdoc considers my bingeing an eating disorder. I have found that my success (85 lbs so far with about 135 lbs to go) was figuring out why I overeat. For me being fat was a good way to be because I haven't had to worry about men hitting on me and asking me out. When I was thin, men used to hit on me and grab me on the butt in public or whistle things like that and I wasn't even dressed racey or anything. Looking back I was just very pretty as a thin person. Anyway, once I figured that out, I cut out things like sugar, refined carbs (like white bread, white pasta, danishes/donuts, prepackaged meals like hamburger helper, etc..) and fast food (I still struggle with this one because I love french fries). I started eating whole grains (whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread and brown rice) instead. I also started adding in colorful veggies and started drinking 64 oz of water a day. I also swear by getting 8 hours of sleep every night. I am Bipolar (manic-depressive) so sometimes that's hard for me, but I try. Anyway, I pretty much stopped thinking of being on a diet per say, and started looking at what I could eat for nutritional value.
Don't get me wrong I still struggle everyday with bingeing. I don't think it ever goes away, but it does get easier. I hope this helps.

I want to add lean protein to the previous list. A grilled chicken breast (I keep them in the freezer all the time and you just need to defrost) cut into pieces over some Romain (or ice burg if you prefer) shredded lettuce. It's a BIG meal, very satisfying and you feel you're really eating something.
And low fat popcorn, air popped.. a lot of food for little calories.
