I've lost over 160 pounds and I've found that the best way to avoid loose skin is to lose the weight slowly.
Don't get me wrong, I do have some loose skin on my arms and tummy, but those are the places where I've lost the most weight. Also, I am menopausal, over fifty and have very light and thin skin, so there ain't no way I would have tight skin even if I had been thin all my life.
But I lost the first 100 rather fast and I noticed a lot of loose skin. When I let myself take some time to lose the next 60 pounds slowly, I actually noticed that the loose skin started to tighten up. I had this huge empty bag where my tummy had been, but after taking time to lose weight slowly, the tummy actually came up and in!
Execise also helps some, it makes the muscles under the skin look really good so you can be proud of that. But remember that even with loose skin, you'll look better and more importantly, be healthier than before - so loose skin is nothing to be afraid of.
My best buddy told me about this question and urged me to come here to let everyone know about my experiance with loose skin.
Have fun losing the weight everyone. The journey of getting to goal is fun too!
