Hi everyone. I’m Kaelynn, I’m 36 years old and a SAHM of two (daughter and son). Up until a year and a half ago I weighed 315 lbs. I had gotten down to 286 lbs. when I joined Weight Watchers in January of 2005. I lost 42 lbs. and then stalled about six months into it. The stall sent me into a downward spiral that led to my quitting WW and gaining all I’d lost back. So, I’ve gone back to WW because I can’t stand feeling sick and fat anymore. When I eat junk, I literally feel like junk. I’m tired, irritable, and just want to sleep 24/7. I hate feeling that way day in and day out. I also have several health problems related to my obesity. I’m a Type 2 diabetic, I have extremely high triglycerides, and I have hypothyroidism. I just plain need to lose the weight once and for all.
I know that WW didn’t work for me before because I had the wrong attitude. I was happy as a lark, as long as I was losing consistently. When it started to slow down to barely a .6 lb. loss a week, I just wanted to stomp around and pitch a fit. All I could think about was all the favorite fatty foods I’d given up and for what…to only lose 40-some lbs! I didn’t want to have to wait to be slim. I wanted it to happen yesterday. Bad, bad attitude :(
This time around I have a better attitude and more realistic goals. I’m only looking as far ahead as the next 5 lbs. In the two weeks I’ve been back on the Flex Plan, I’ve lost 4.5 lbs. I’ve recently found information on the “Wendie” version of the WW plan and I think that I’ll give that a try.
Well, I just wanted to introduce myself and say “Hi!”
I hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Kaelynn and welcome to the board!!
Congratulations on rejoining WW's and losing the first few pounds.. it always feel great when you start losing and see that you're making progress..
I think that setting mini-goals and thinking of small increments at a time is a great way to go.. most of us here do that and for me it is very helpful. The big picture seams less daunting and you celebrate a lot along the way :)
Good luck on your journey.. looking forward to your posts
I personally drink icy water and peanuts...Fresh whole peanuts not salted in a jar.

Welcome Kaelynn!! Best of luck to you. WW works for me when I stay on program and write everything down. You will find some great, non- judgemental support here!!

Thanks for the welcome, Mary. Your son is absolutely adorable! How old is he? Geesh, seeing that cutie makes me wish I could have another, lol.

Thanks for the welcome, Maryanne. I know what you mean about Sunday dinner. Its been hard giving up the fried chicken, biscuits and mounds of mash potatoes I used to eat.
I love raw peanuts. Its just so hard to find them. I can find bags of roasted all over, but the raw are hard to come by.

Thank you for the welcome, Kelli. I have to admit that keeping my WW journal is a struggle, but I'm doing it. I figured out that I need to write things down before I eat them or I end up eating and forgetting to write it down. Then I'm left trying to figure out the points about three or four hours after the fact, lol. My husband laughed his behind off at me this weekend because I made homemade soup and forgot to figure out the points as I added ingredients. I had to dig through the trash to get the nutrition info for some of the things (canned stuff) because I wanted to be as exact as possible. He said I looked like I was looking for a lost diamond or something. Next time I am going to make him dig the stuff out for me ;)
