What is the 'no-no' food that really helps you when you cut it down/off your diet?
What is the 'no-no' food that you

Happy weekend Mary!
No-no food that I avoid: Salty snacks, especially cheetos and the like. I think they put some kind of a drug in that cheese dust that completely sends me comatose. "Must eat another handful, must see bottom of bag." Then I get that tell-tale stain on my fingers and the kids say, "Can I have some?" Only mom chowed them all down. Just say no!
Not no-nos, but treats: Pizza and ice cream. I can't quit the 'za, but I can eliminate the greasy meats and eat less of it--not bad if I plan for it by saving calories and match it with more healthy foods. I can satisfy the ice cream jones with smaller portions of lower fat, sugar free versions on occasion.
Got to get it into my life: Meatless meals. For me with meat comes starch and fat cravings. Hamburger=bun and cheese, steak=potatoes and butter, stirfry=rice and eggroll. I've moved our family to one meatless (and fishless) meal per week and want to add another. So far no one has noticed....
No No Foods - Salty ones. Cookies, little debbies cakes, things like that. I also have a weakness for fries, so I bake those.
Allowance foods - Pizza, CHOCOLATE (atleast one piece a day) and an occasional specialty coffee. I don't have them often, but I like to treat myself to them. Oh and bojangles chicken. I moved to the south almost a year ago from CA (original from NY) and I was hooked instantly. Thought I'm happy with a salad with the chicken from theree
Can't live without - MEAT! Aside from the fact I need to eat more protien, I love my steak, ribs, chicken, hamburgers and such. We do by boneless skinless chicken, low fat ground meat and I rarely eat a steak or ribs. We do like the previous poster have one meatless meal a night. Usually something with black beans.

*What is the 'no-no' food that really helps you when you cut it down/off your diet?*
For me, any fast food is a huge 'no-no'. I've even tried the lighter versions of things like Subway subs and McDonald's salads, but they don't leave me feeling satisfied and lead me to indulge in other full fat things on the menu. I've learned to make my own healthy versions of subs, salads, etc. at home so I can watch what goes in and control portions. If I stay away from fast food I always show a loss on the scale.
*What is the 'no-no' food that you WON'T part with?*
I like regular full fat shredded cheese on my salads. I know it costs me more WW points, but I just take that into account when figuring out my meals for the day. I have tried every brand of low or non-fat cheese I can find and they all tasted yucky. I'd rather have a little of the real stuff than a lot of the low-fat.
*What healthy food do you need to add/increase?*
I need to add more dark, leafy green vegetables to my diet. Really I need to add anything healthy with a lot of iron to my diet. I am on the borderline of being anemic according to my Dr. I take a multivitamin, but it doesn't seem to be doing enough to help raise my levels. I don't want to take an iron supplement because they tend to cause my digestive system to go haywire. I've been trying to eat more spinach and add kale in too. I just really don't like the taste of them that much though.

*What is the 'no-no' food that really helps you when you cut it down/off your diet?*
Fast food, namely fries or chili cheese tots!! I get real bad craving for this when I am PMS'ing so we all know what I have been eating this week...LOL Also sodas. I can definitely eliminate these most of the time!!
*What is the 'no-no' food that you WON'T part with?*
Same as the no-no cuz if I make myself do without all the time I will crash and burn. I am going to aim at cutting back slowly. SWEET TEA!!! Can't live without it or I would go insane. Potatoes! Mashed or roasted is what I try to go for the most with an occasional baked one but I have to feel it with butter to eat it.
*What healthy food do you need to add/increase?*
I have been told I need to add more veggies but I just don't care for many of them so I am aiming at adding more fruit, only it is hard cuz the kids grab them up and how can I tell them that is for mom's diet?? Yea not good to disencourage them from eating it and despite buying them their own special kinds they still want the few I eat.
